It'd be just Dallas' luck if Morrow didn't waive. Have a great deal in place but he refuses to leave. Can totally see that happening.

Now Brendan Morrow refusing to waive would be amazing for the Flames, it would be an Iginla frenzy between the Pens and Bruins with a good price for a much weaker player set.

I won't tell anyone what to do when it comes to family but he is nuts not to waive.

I hope Morrow says no and it forces the Pens to give in on the asking price for Iggy.

Gary Roberts cost them nothing to acquire.

Agreed, can't take anything away from Morrow and what the type of player he is, brings to a playoff team. Still tho I'm shocked that he is even close to being worth Joe Morrow. I honestly didn't even think Iggy would be worth that strait up on a rental.

He is a good defensive prospect not high end and the Pens are deep in defensive prospects and ready to win now.

This is why it is nice to have good management you can move good pieces for guys to help you know.

Morrow doing the dirty work on a Crosby line would be 1000x more valuable than Ryder and Stafford floating hoping Sid creates for them.

Morris with Neal and Malkin just became a horrible line to match up physically against.

The reaction to this possible deal further testifies to how much people are overvaluing good prospects and undervaluing strong older players during the time of the year when GM's are at their dumbest.

For a lot of teams Brandon Morrow wouldn't be worth that much, but for the 'I can't keep my emotions in check and play hockey like real men' Penguins he would be worth a lot.

I have to disagree. I think this is just plain awful asset management. It reeks of the Gaustad for 1st trade blunder that Nashville did last year.

@RenLavoieRDS Brendan Morrow is meeting with Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk. Should know after if he'll accept a trade to Pittsburgh.

I have mixed feelings about this:

Happy: The price for Iginla just increased

Sad: One team is out of the running and this can set us up for a DISASTER if the Flames don't get the return that we NOW all expect.

Except the Pens are much closer to a Cup than Nashville was and much deeper than they were prospectwise.

You are vastly overrating Joe.

Not saying it is the same but sure many fans are fine with giving up Hull for a Cup in Calgary.

The Pens need to worry about now not 2-3 seasons when Morrow might help them.

For who? Dougie Hamilton? LOL. Watch HF explode if that's the case.

Good sign that whoever loses will have to pay up for Iginla.

There are still two more teams on that list (LA and Chicago). I for one would love it if he and D Sutter were reunited.
