Maybe because it was I was so young, but I remember that as being ridiculously tough.

Wrap around for the win.
NHL 94 was the better game, but my soft spot is for NHL 93. Unlike in 94, in NHL 93 the breakaway move is unstoppable and you can do it from anywhere inside the hash marks.

But my best memory of NHL 93 was driving my friends nuts with Mike Ridley. You could take a slapshot from the top of one circle to the opposite top corner of the net and score at an alarming frequency.

Good times.

that is the classic of all classics...it came out at a time when playing as the Flames in a video game was unimaginable

I was mad that you couldn't play as Calgary in Blades of Steel for some reason.

I liked 95 the best and a few of my friends dust it off once a year. Wasn't it the first game that offered manual goaltending? That was something my friends could never figure out so it gave me a huge advantage.

Also, all you had to do to score was at the faceoff, move up slightly and skate in a straight line straight into the net.

I bought EA hockey for Genesis from Video Game Trader. For some reason the gameplay was even faster than the NHL version.

This was a great game.

I used to enjoy how they would have highlights from "out of town" games.
