I am on sequence nine and have put about the same amount of time in non-main missions then main missions. I have it for the PS3 and I do have to say their is a lot of glitches tho. No major ones just dumb little things like being able to put body's in animals, and people sitting in air. Theirs a ton of little things like that but it doesn't take away from the game. It actually adds humour sometimes.
Me too, I got to sequence 6 by the end of Wednesday, and just last night I finally finished off sequence 7, and I've probably averaged playing it 3-4hrs per day. Just been having a good time with the surprisingly fun Homestead missions, and just being a predator in the Frontier, with animals & redcoats. I don't think I'll ever get sick of that rope dart.

Agreed about the glitches too, I've had no major problems, just minor, GTA-type stuff, which I've always gotten a kick out of.

Just finished this beast of a game, and now thinking about how it all wraps up. This one has an ending I'm not sure i love, but I didn't hate it either. Kind of torn on what to make of it.

Loved that game though. Despite the super long prologue, once the game opens up, it is hard to put down. Also, I think the navel battles were the best part of this game. Could have played an entire game made up of navel battles.

Great game and one that lives up to the hype. Curious what others think of the ending...

I haven't played it since like 2 days after launch. I just find Boston such a boring city.

The multiplayer is uber amounts of fun though. I love the new maps.

I was expecting it to end along those lines, however I wasn't happy with the execution. Should have given us the option.

I am still very much enjoying this game, I find myself deviating from the main story line as much as possible as I don't want it to end... however when I do hop back in the main story line it is very entertaining. One thing I would change is that Connor needs to stop being so damn angry all the time, I much preferred Hayden's attitude.

The developers are on Reddit right now doing an AMA.
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comment...ed_iii_ask_me/

They have been asked about glitches as well as other things like why Boston is so open and not as many people as previous cities.

I never got into Revelations or Brotherhood, didn't finish either. But so far (I'm in sequence 7) I've been just as addicted to this as I was with AC2. I've enjoyed the story, but even more so I love the side missions and the environment. The homestead missions and hunting are a blast IMO, and I would honestly buy the Naval battles as a separate game its so fun

I agree with the criticism about Boston being boring in comparison to Florence/Venice, but really its pretty much impossible to compare to those cities at any period in history, Italy's beautiful

I'm fascinated by the time period AC3 is in and I think they've done a great job with it, I haven't had this much fun with a game in a while

I'm finding that I prefer to do the Desmond missions than the Connor ones. so far I'm just not a fan of the character, I'm not sure if it's because I thought Ezio was just such a great character and I really enjoyed him in the game.
I do find that one part that frustrates me has been getting attacked by animals, it might just be me but I find it quite hard to actually survive the attacks, the bear and bobcat take me out no problem at all.

Just takes time to get used to fighting predators, Gravitykillr. Bobcats used to own me at first too, but now if anything, I find predators way too easy because of that QTE crap, which is 1 of only 2 major complaints I had with this game (the other being zero ambient music during freeroam in cities, which I really believe is the reason so many found it slow/boring in Boston/NYC. Just felt kind of hollow. Can't underestimate what a mood setter music is, especially in this series. Such an odd choice to remove that, I don't even know what they were thinking).

The Connor/Ezio bit is just personal preference, I actually think Connor's my favourite assassin to date. I really liked Ezio too, but he was a little too James Bond slick for me for an assassin. When I think of an assassin, I think of a stoic, solitary person, and Connor fits this for me.

Been avoiding this thread for awhile because I wasn't done story mode yet, just finished the other day. Won't get into details for spoilery reasons, but I actually kind of enjoyed the ending. I can see why some wouldn't like it, but I was fine with it. Over-all this game had its problems, but with the vast improvements in freerunning/combat/graphics/side missions, I'd say its my favourite AC game to date.

EDIT: I feel shame for making it through that whole thing without mentioning naval. I was blown away with how good it was. I'd easily play a full DLC of just that. Ubisoft, shut up and take my money!

The one thing I missed from the previous games was the prince of Persia-like levels to get the armor upgrade. Those were some of my favorite parts in the ezio trilogy and were missed.

ok so i know you have to put aside any semblance of realism for these games, but after the latest Desmond mission i did it's just too much

Spoiler!

that sequence may just be one of the dumbest things i've ever seen in a videogame

On a high end pc this game is breathtakingly amazing. Probably the best overall presentation in any game I've ever played, makes the cinematic and artistic games like MGS4 seem archaic. People complain about the prologue but my jaw dropped when I was in the opera house, sailing on the boat was absolutely amazing. The game is so smooth and beautiful I just want to play it, I have 5 brand new games on my computer and this one has the best overall presentation. I've never played the other AC games so my guess is all the complaints stem from comparisons to the earlier games.

I haven't done anything in Boston yet, just running around getting in swordfights with the guards which are as good as in any game. Used to think the Ninja Gaiden game on the xbox had the best swordfighting in any game but this one wins easily. The part where you are on the top of the mast of the boat in the storm at the beginning was as cool as anything I've ever seen in a game.

Ya I don't play a lot of non-sports games so my opinion's limited, but to date, that's the best graphics I've ever seen in a video game, at least a sandbox anyway. For all the game's faults, it certainly nailed the visuals (aside from glitches of course, but I was lucky in that regard).

And ya, fighting mechanics are much improved. Try using a snare or rope dart as your secondary weapon during an attack, when you make a counter move (hit Y/triangle). Lots of sadistic fun.

So with a lot of people saying that they would buy a game with just the ship missions, it seems that the developers may have heard you. Announced today is Assassin's Creed 4. In this one the new assassin is a pirate. There is not a lot of details yet but there is expected to be more info released on March 4th.

I think I'm finally tired of these games. I never beat AC3 (Which I was super excited for) and I've had no desire to go back and beat it.

While the yearly release was nice because the story was rather interesting, they just over-saturated the market to the point of CoD, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, where they are just boring to play now.

Ya, this series has definitely become CoD'ish with the annual releases, its too bad. I still enjoy AC, but I think I'm going to start skipping the smaller, annual releases and just stick to the big, numbered titles. Those are the real AC games, which come out every 2-3 years. The main dev crew doesn't even work on the smaller, "filler" games. So they're pretty much skippable.

I will make an exception with this pirate one though, naval was way too awesome to avoid a full game of it. You can fault Ubi for a lot of things lately regarding AC, but they've always been great for listening to fan feedback. Hence why we're getting Black Flag.
