			Question for you slo-pitch players...
I am looking at buying a bat this coming season, do you guys use composite or aluminium bats? I heard that you are not suppose to use a composite bat under 15 degrees, and 10 degrees for an aluminium bat, or they get ding up pretty badly.. is this true?

When we hit something with one of them you'll be the first to know.

If you follow the weather restrictions to a T, you would not be using your bats much in Calgary in May...and June.

You can dent or flatten them. I usually coddle a new bat for the first year, after that...whatever.

The type of ball is an important factor. The harder the ball, the easier it is to damage a bat. Limited flight balls work better in colder temperatures as they are naturally softer to begin with; cold weather just makes them work more like a standard ball. Hitting a higher compression ball though can be like hitting a rock.

Composite bats will crack or shatter. They don't dent like aluminum alloy ones. Hitting a new composite bat in cold weather may actually help break it in faster. Unlike aluminum ones, they actually will perform better over time, up until they crack or shatter..

Bottom line for me, I am leary of early morning games at the beginning and end of the season when the temp is getting under 7-8 degrees. Other than that, the bats are usually OK to go.

			2nd question...
How do you properly break in a new bat? Can you use the batting cages to break it in? or does the ball they use in the cage damage the bat?

 3rd question...

Synergy Speed SRV4, Freak Maxload, or Demarini The One?

So, how are those jerseys coming Glorious Leader? Are you buying any spares for future players?
