Dodgers can play a little
Ohtani (and Freeman) can hit a little
Go Jays

You have to put a lefty in to face Ohtani and Freemam third time through
Players sometimes have to just do their damn job

He needs a much longer while to warm up and once he’s up I think he only gets up once. So they have to make sure he’s coming in, or if he doesn’t when they expect him to, he’s done.
While I agree they should use him it’s not that easy.

Or walk Ohtani. Then rightie vs rightie Scherzer Betts. The Ohtani RBI does not happen.
Bring in Fluharty for Freeman.

Not a fan of hit and runs but at least now there’s a fear of the runner going.

That's where having such a strong line up is tough.
With nobody on base that's 100% the move.
But with a man on walking Ohtani moves the runner into scoring position and puts the tying run on base with 1 out and Betts and Freeman coming up.
You either have to trust Scherzer could get out Ohtani - he already had a double and a HR off him tonight - or you go to the pen.
Going to the pen was likely the right move, Fluharty has had success against the top of the Dodgers lineup, but maybe just went to that well one too many times.

That’s fine. You let Betts beat you, not Ohtani, so walk him. Keep Max in for the r vs r. Schneider put Judge on with a runner on 1st before.
1st and 2nd 1 out 4-1 with Betts up vs Betts up when it’s 4-2 and Ohtani on second with 1 out.
Again the Jays pen stinks. One swing from Ohtani and that guy on first got in anyways.

For a new fan, if there is a box that shows the location of each pitch, what is the point of having an umpire making the calls.

What a great tag by Ernie. Placement had to be there because the foot was almost on the bag.

Mostly tradition. A little bit technology. It’s a bit more complicated in baseball than it is in something like tennis.

Well you're not really planning on Ohtani hitting the double, you're hoping your guy gets him out.
Also minimal difference but it was 4-2 at the time not 4-1
