So touching the trophy is bad luck but taking a team photo with it is okay? I don't understand hockey superstitions.
If I was captain I would touch it just to say that we are in control and no superstition is going to get in the way. I know athletes are superstitious but it's ludicrous to think that your chances on winning the cup balance on touching a trophy. Besides both conference winners don't touch it and one team loses the final every year regardless.
almost every year a team that doesn't touch conference trophy loses in the final...will happen again this year
Crosby made a point of carrying the Prince of Wales trophy around for a victory lap, and the Penguins went on to win the Cup on 2009. Never understood this superstition. Didn't the the Oilers and Flames of the 80s hoist the Campbell Bowl?

That's right. Didn't he not touch it in 2008 though so decided to mix it up the next time?
Atmosphere will be electric in Tampa, and we've seen that already.
Whatever. People can get excited but they should have some class when the other team wins. When Montreal beat us in Calgary for the Cup in '86 we applauded them. Their fans returned the favour in 1989.
Tonight two thirds of Anaheim's fans are gone and the ones that are left are throwing stuff at the winning team. Weak.
