After recent revelations from the OD trailer, ATAMI spelled out letter by letter in Udo Kiers mouth, there is speculation that this game could be a spiritual successor to PT. So I won't be surprised when Guillermo del Toro is eventually added as a collaborator officially.
Atami is city in the Shizuoka prefecture. And Shizuoka literally means Silent Hill. So this could be based in the world of Silent Hill or perhaps the game he wanted to make after PT without the Silent Hill branding.
One other thing I forgot to mention as well is when Kojima was introduced at the VGA's he walked out of the PT door.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that Guillermo de Toro didn't seem to contribute much in terms of story line or visuals. But he has had a past with working with the horror genre, so I too think that it is likely he would be announced as a collaborator for OD.
Kojima loves to put stuff like this in his reveals. The Atami thing could be legit, or a complete red herring. IIRC there were things like this constantly in the Death Stranding development and reveal stuff.
My speculation so far...
1. OD is going to be a spiritual successor to PT. Not cheap horror, but mind bending horror.
2. I think this game will have major differences from chapter to chapter or character to character based on the collaborators.
3. I think this game will be basically watching a streamer play, but gives the spectator some way to contribute without disrupting the game (ie: Death Stranding). This would make sense for the odd "It's new media, it's a game, it's a movie, but completely a game." comment.

Except for the part where other developers with much less resources manage to release PC at the same time. Rockstar wants that double dip money, that’s all it is.

Rockstar wants to make money off whatever multiplayer monetization method they will have on console.
PC players don't need to spend money on buying Shark cards in GTA V because there are so many hacks and exploits that became easily available. Players didn't even need to download anything, just join a lobby that had a hacker in it that could spread money around like the Joker in Batman 1989.
I don’t know that I’ve ever hated a final mission more than the last mission in the Phantom Liberty DLC. Damn near “uninstall the game and never play it again” bad. Whomever designed this should be shot in the head
Really unfortunate scenario with Insomniac last night and the reported hackers. Sony decided to call their bluff and the hackers have released a lot of information including employee names and addresses along with Insomniac's development roadmap:
Spoiler!
Marvel's Venom 2025
Marvel's Wolverine 2026 - Leaked gameplay
Marvel's Spider-Man 3 2028
Next Ratchet & Clank 2029
Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web - Multiplayer game Undisclosed release
Marvel's X-MEN 2030
Just want to remind everyone that Cyberpunk 2077 is an absolute beast of a game. The launch problems are far, far behind where the game currently is. Phantom Liberty is fantastic so far (still playing through it). Great game, and one of my all time favourites.

The optimization is insane as well. What a rich environment as compared to starfield

All these major tech companies and developers with leaks and hacks always surprises me. What kind of investment are they putting into their cybersecurity and cybersecurity training? Is the weakpoint just that a a lot of developers have a model where they just have a lot of devs with unrestricted system access and unmonitored endpoints working remotely or even outsourced?

I tried jumping back into Cyberpunk recently but I just couldn't find a graphical or shader/reshade mod that made it look okay on my OLED and not overblown fake, over-neoned, or have too much volumetric lighting for realism. It's frustrating how most games are developed with some common lighting models that are designed for LCD televisions.

Just try to keep in mind it's not real, it's cyberpunk Neon signs abound. To me it's not the perfect game at all.. I play it every once in a while and I'm maybe halfway through the initial release. I was speaking more to the performance with DLSS and all the other stuff they've added. I don't have a great computer (a 2060 super), and it's just so smooth

Yeah, they've optimized it incredibly well. I have no issues playing the ultra ray-traced settings when I have XeSS enable. It also integrates XeSS better than any other game I've played thus far. None of the weird shiny issues with hair and clothing.

I wanted to jump back in because they finally added in the train network officially so you can ride the skytrain around town. I just want the game to look pretty so I can ride the train... not hack and shoot people lol
I'm getting to the point where I prefer exploration simulators a lot of the time for a relaxing time haha.

Did you ever play Death Stranding then? Dark souls/Demon Souls and Bloodborne were also amazing landscapes to explore and appreciate when not doing main quest stuff.
Are you playing on PC or console? No settings in game or no ability on the TV to change the TV from a gaming/movie/sports mode that addressed the look to your satisfaction? I'd assume an OLED TV could potentially imitate LED look?

I'm on all platforms. Gaming PC, MacBook (Baldur's Gate 3 M1 native!), SteamDeck, Xbox, PS5. I have Death Stranding but have had trouble getting over the Kojima'ness of it. Have been playing Souls since Demon Souls on the PS3. Definitely a lot of exploration in those games but I would say those are more horror and anxiety driven games rather than relaxing. I used to just ride the train around the city in GTA 5 and would like to do the same in Cyberpunk.
Actually on TVs, I'm usually okay with the built in video settings because I'm sitting further back on the bed or couch. I have an Alienware Ultrawide OLED for PC gaming and because you are sitting right in front of it, I'm just especally nitpicky about fake looking lighting.
In Starfield, I had to use a mod to change the luts to neutral to take the greenish/yellow tint off the game, and then another mod to disable volumetric lighting because every place (especially Neon) had unrealistically colored fog hanging around everything. I don't notice this when playing Starfield on the console for some reason but my TV does suck compared to my computer monitor.
OLEDs are able to show deep blacks and high dynamic range. I think my HDR goes up to 1000 nits but most games don't have a good HDR rendering model and all the mods I found were to simulate HDR with a reshade package.
I'm just picky about graphics when sitting in front of the computer and I spend a few hours adjusting for Starfield before I was happy. I started doing it with Cyberpunk but then I lost patience reinstalling reshaders so many times. Modding is always a lot of research, work, and trial and error. I think I just need a reshader to get deep contrasts, remove tint, and disable volumetric lighting completely. In real life you don't see volumetric lighting like you do in games unless you are in the middle of Alberta's smoky season or a smoky bar full of colored lights. It's a pet peeve along with games adding film grain and motion blur.
In terms of exploration games with a good balance of creativity, puzzle, and action - my favorite right now is Remnant 2. I'd call it Elden Ring with guns and a multiverse type story for variety of worlds.
