The worst thing you're probably going to see is an erect dog penis. There's some animals having sex but it isn't explicit.

Freaks (1932) is brilliant. Multi-layered and loses none of it's impact today, it's amazing how well it holds up. By the end of it, I looked up the history, and now I'm upset that there is a 90 minute version that is lost to time, that I'll never see.

Raw is a masterpiece in horror cinema, it's been a while since a movie made me squirm in my seat like that. Could hardly watch some parts, one scene had me gagging like I was going to throw up. Don't want to spoil too much but basically the story is about a woman going to veterinarian school who is a vegetarian, and during a hazing ritual she eats meat and becomes addicted to the taste and this addiction spirals out of control.

I ended up just watching it on my own and I'd give it 3/10. The parts with Will Forte are funny but the other stuff seems to be more suited for 12 year olds. Just unfunny, dumb jokes...

Yea the one from 2016. I absolutely loved it, really loved how they just went for it and didn't hold back. The director is great , I also recommend her other big movie Titane.

I liked Titane as well although it was very weird like Neon Demon.

Neon Demon is amazing I love that movie! I feel like you could just play it with no sound on at a bar or something just for the vibes and people would be glued to the screen.

Watched Hollow Man yesterday for the first time and I thought it was well done. Some of the CGI and special effects still work and it was well directed and acted, with a couple of really good scares as well. It's probably the most dark invisible man movie, with the invisible man immediately turning into a rapist and commiting several SA during the film. If I were to rank them I would put the recent remake first, then the original 30s version and this last.

I recommend Maggie Moore(s) on Netflix.
Jon Hamm and Tina Fey in a dark comedy about two murders in the same town of women with the same name (Maggie Moore). Nick Mohammed from Ted Lasso is very funny in this as a deputy. Actually, mostly good performances from all.
Glad I checked this one out. 3.5/5

Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead are two of my favorite horror movies of all time. Because of that I have always been hesitant to watch Day of the Dead because I was scared it wouldn't be as good as those. Well after finally watching it I can happily say this one absolutely belongs alongside those first 2 films as some of the best zombie movies ever. The special effects are the best in the series, they blow away anything that's coming out today even.

Watching Memento is a hell of a different experience after you've had a brain injury.

Guy Pierce's inability to make new memories is basically exactly what I have been going through for five+ years (only not to that degree) and after five years of rehab I've had more success with with repetition learning than he (or the bald guy? were they the same person?) did.

So many things were spot on, from retaining all your skills, abilities and memories from the day up to your brain injury, to the waking up and wondering where somebody is (both my dogs died over the pandemic, I have no recollection of the first one dying), to taking pictures and notes of *everything* (I text myself. I'm drowning in ####ing texts to myself), to watching TV shows and not being able to remember episode to episode (usually when I'm not that into it). Uncanny.

Instead of giving the people the "filing cabinet analogy" when explaining my condition, I'm just going to tell them to go watch Memento.

Plus they get to watch Memento which is another 'Win' entirely.

I was surprised at how good A Haunting in Venice was.

Easily the best entry so far.

Enjoyed a skeptical Poirot trying to keep it together in the face of "supernatural" events. Well executed and even a little creepy.

Fantastic camera work too.

What's your cut of choice for Dawn of the Dead? I like the extended cut with the goofiness intact.

Ive seen the theatrical and the extended cuts and while I enjoy both I prefer the extended too. The box set I picked up has the Argento cut so I'm excited to check that one out.

I wonder what you would use “The Lighthouse” as an analogy for?

I am still… not sure what I watched. Great acting, but just… I am confused.
