Late to the show but just watched the scrimmage. Apart from the common comments from everybody else, here's my thoughts:
88 really stood out. Lookin forward to seeing how he does this year.
Liked 71 knocking people over.
Poirier had nice hands.
It seems like by not playing any 5 on 5, the game doesn't allow certain players to showcase their abilities, some of the bigger guys that aren't as fleet of foot like Kanzig and smith who would use the body more in the crowded ice. also defenders used to playing mainly 5 on 5, at a specific position might mess them up a bit.
Also Sieloff didn't look too out of place, happy to see that.

But it is curious, I thought Myers looked pretty good and he's a guy who can throw them and is also a defenseman, but the Flames probably want a good look at the defensemen already on their reserve list.

Because he played in the WHL last season and went undrafted, he is now a limited-time UFA. Between the conclusion of the Draft and the start of the Major Junior season, he can be signed to an NHL tryout.
If he is signed to a tryout deal, he can participate in training camp. If he has a good showing at camp, he can be signed to an NHL contract prior to the start of the NHL season. They could also just offer him a contract without the tryout, but that's unlikely.
If he isn't signed to an NHL contract prior to the start of the season, he will lose his limited free agency and will be draft-eligible again next season.
This is the same thing the Kings did with Martin Jones after he went undrafted. It's also what the Oilers tried to do with Tkachev last season, but he had played a couple of games in Russia before going to the CHL the prior season, so that deal was ruled ineligible.
It doesn't appear that Soustal played anywhere other than Kelowna last season, so the Flames should be able to sign him if they want to.

I was under the impression that Poirier was quite aggressive and tenacious. You see differently, caged?

Yeah, that's the way I've thought of him as well. In junior he was getting into the odd scrap and was known as a physical player. To me he's looked a little skinny and I don't think he's been able to move that part of his game to the pros. Putting on some more muscle is probably a priority with him.

Is it though? I agree that he was seen as a physical player in Junior and maybe he does need to bulk up a bit. But how much would that added weight affect his speed? I think at 6'2 200 lb's he is a decent size, but he doesn't generate offense by being a power forward. His offense is purely created with speed and skill.
If we want Poirier to become a top-6 forward instead of a bottom 6 forward, he should be doing whatever will benefit his offensive game the most.

That is the part that is the hardest to tell in this type of camp because nobody hits anyone really. I was evaluating it more on how much motor those guys have and the willingness to push on defenders when they have the puck. Poirier didn't really give it his all, and didn't really engage a ton with the defenders, but I also don't blame him at all considering he's already played in the NHL and is likely going to be again this year. No need to risk injury on something that isn't all that important for where he is.
