Android is not the problem here. Samsung is. Sadly.
I saw an article earlier today that noted the 16GB S4 has just 45% of that 16GB available... I know they have expanded memory but my god that is a lot of Samsung bloatware added to Android.

It's not available quite yet, but you can sign-up for email notification.
Here's a video on how it's applied and works:
I currently have the Zagg protector on my Nexus 4, and I'm not very happy about it. Some of the edges are coming up. Went back to the Zagg booth in Cross Iron to see if they could fix or replace it. They wanted to charge me $25. Told the guy to take a flying leap.
So they are bringing out a defender case for the Nexus 4? If so that is great news. I'm using a Ballistic case right now which protects decent but doesn't have a screen protector and I;m not a fan of peel on ones.

No. It's a screen protector. I didn't see any defender case at the link I provided.
Anyone elses nexus 4 really slow a lot of times now? It seems like the darn tablet is just struggling to do basic things time to time, as if its woefully underpowered. Very discouraging.

I notice slow speeds when playing music. That was one thing I always hated about my iPhone was the somewhat unresponsiveness in changing songs. but the Nexus 4 compared to the iPhone is no contest. The Nexus is a dog. It can be 5 seconds to skip to the next song after waking the phone.
I experience lag at various times doing banal things. The worst is switching from landscape to portrait mode, but the lag can occur for no real reason and the thing freezes up like my iphone.

I am having Calendar issues that just started happening. Recently my calendar stopped displaying my existing meetings. I have it synced with my work account and any meetings I have created or modified within the last few days appear but existing, recurring meetings are gone. I use Pure grid calendar but they are also gone from the stock calendar app.
After using my GF's nexus4 for a few days while she's over I have to say I'm convinced that iOS is better for me. Too many little things in android still bother me, and while I love the devices themselves the change was too jarring and I found myself longing for an IP5. I feel so defeated and dirty, like a freaking apple fan boy

It's not too late to come back from the dark side.

Eh. My pros and cons list of the android vs ios experience is pretty comprehensive (in my mind at least). For me I don't want to fiddle with things like I used to when I was younger. I used to do so much fiddling and customizing, but now I just want it to work out of box the way I want. Could I find a music synchronizer that works with itunes? Sure but that adds a new layer. Instead of plugging in my phone I first have to load anothe program. Then I have to find and adjust to an android music player (I havent found one yet I really like a lot). Or I can just load up my music and manage it file by file, no thanks.
Apps.. droid has more but on average I actually find that iphone apps are usually better and faster to be made. TSN as an example. I used to think that widgets were something that I really loved and wanted to use a lot on my tablet and phone but found the only widget I used was calendar. Widgets have probably been my biggest disappointment when it comes to functionality. On a tablet I rarely use it as is, but on a smaller phone it becomes even less reliable/workable. I like the idea of android but it's a lot of extra work that may be fun for some but I've lost my techy/geeky inner fire that would make the extra work a pleasure.

Has anyone run into this?
I had something similar. I am connected to Office365, and it required the phone to be password protected. Everything worked fine then one day I turned the password protection off. Even after turning the security back on, my calender and alerts would no longer sync.
I figured I would need to detach the phone then re-add, but when I logged into to Office 365 and deleted the device, it then reconnected (since all the server settings on the phone client were still valid) and all my missed alerts ran through. I haven't screwed with the security setting since and I haven't had any issue since.
So I think there was some alert that got "stuck", and what I did freed everything up.
