Herman hesitated, but he made the right call there. If it was a cheap little hook or if a Hitmen player went down easy on a small bump to set that two man advantage up, I would be agreeing with you wholeheartedly. That was a wicked overhand chop that hit an opponent in the head. You HAVE to call things like that because it is incredibly dangerous. Player safety is paramount, and Urbom needs to know better.
As it is, if it was the first period and Urbom gets in the ref's face like that, he's getting a misconduct as well. He should count himself lucky he didn't get one there.

Oh boy. 4-0 for the Hitmen already and still in the first period. DeSerres looks shaky but still in net.

lol, and we were outshot 21-10 in the first too.
I have no idea why they are leaving DeSerres in the net... let him rest for tomorrow.

Well that was a terrible powerplay. Calvert scored a SHG, and nearly scored a second.

Oh christ... our powerplay is about 100 times more embarrassing than the Flames is right now. Another f'ing SHG.
It was bound to happen though. You get outshot 3-1, you deserve to be giving up embarrassing goals.

Matt Calvert- That was one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen. Absolutely unheard of.

He had a lot of help from a team that just doesn't have their heads screwed on straight, however.
Disgusting performance by the Hitmen that period. Absolutely f'ing embarrassing.

I don't care how bad the Hitmen looked, the guy just scored a natural hat trick of shorthanded goals. I bet you that's never happened in WHL history! Unbelievable.

Thank god for Fiddler... two goals in 19 seconds just inside the last two minutes. 6-3 final.
Those two goals might be huge for how they could impact the psyche of both teams.
Unless they want to return to Calgary with the series tied, they will have to be a hell of a lot better tomorrow.

Good win for Calgary, flips the script on Brandon and puts them in a potentially bad position. They need to win game 4 to have a realistic shot of winning this series.

Didn't expect the Hitmen to win tonight and didn't get to listen/watch but I saw the box score and it looks like the Hitmen were lucky to win.
I like their position as Brandon has to win 3 of the next 4, but I really hope they can steal one more and give themselves 3 shots to win it, 2 at home. You just don't want to let a team like Brandon back in a series. It isn't the Warriors where u can just turn it on at will and win easily when you need to.

You have to wonder if the Hitmen win tomorrow night, will the Wheat Kings just lay down after that with them already being guaranteed a spot in the Memorial Cup.

Tomas Vincour with the OT winner for the Giants tonight..
If the series goes to a Game 6 I'll hopefully be able to swing it, and am hoping for a Vancouver/Calgary final (despite my earlier prediction for this round) so I can make a road-trip to the 'Dome for a game if time allows.

I can't see it myself. Brandon has a lot of pride, and I don't think you want to risk a long layoff leaving you rusty heading into a short tournament.
