Holy crap! Never thought I'd see the day...
When did he say that? I thought they completely blanked the media after the game.

Can't wait for Braga in 2.5 hours. Looks like Carroll is on the bench. Ain't going to be easy this. I'm hoping for an away goal if we can sneak it. 0-0 would be ok but then there is always the threat of the away goal at Anfield.

Going to be short of options though, with no Stevie, Suarez, Agger or Carroll starting. Hopefully Dirk can nick one. If Cole starts I hope he has an impact on the game, you would think that he would come around at some point.

He broke his silence to discuss the upcoming Arsenal match and mentioned the Liverpool result then.

Off to Braga. No Stevie, who is still injured with the groin problem.

Hopefully this series is better than the one against Sparta. Those were two pretty brutal and unentertaining matches.

Good god, another awful looking away game in the Europa League. Doesn't help that LFC are missing Agger, Kelly, Gerrard, Fabio, and Suarez.. but this is hard to watch so far.

Yeah that was bad from the part I saw (about the last 20 minutes). You'd think that Meireles and Kuyt, with help from Carroll later, could've made something happen. On that note, why the hell was Joe Cole not included in my previous sentence? I mean, what in the hell is his deal? Every time someone at the pub has a beef with Lucas, I will simply respond with Joe Cole. He's done nothing for us.

Also, that elbow on Carroll was BS. Shame that wasn't spotted.

Dammit! At least there's what, 3 games left this month? Not a heavy schedule.

Classy United fans at it again. Too bad it sounds like a tough loss for Liverpool there.

Quote:
An FA Youth Cup tie between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield saw four red cards and several fans arrested amid ugly scenes.

During a 3-2 United victory, some of the away fans sang songs about the Heysel and Hillsborough tragedies of the 1980s that saw the deaths of 135 people. Three fans were arrested and six ejected from the ground.

A United spokesman said: "Singing songs about the Hillsborough and Heysel tragedies is disgraceful. We will deal harshly with anyone brought to our attention."

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge, present during the Hillsborough disaster of 1989, said he was horrified by the behaviour of the fans on Sunday.

"I have never seen anything like that before at a youth game and I never want to see anything like it again," he told the Liverpool Echo. "It was disgusting.

"You get used to banter from United fans when they come to Anfield but to hear those songs about Heysel and Hillsborough was just horrible. The level of abuse was absolutely sickening.

"There was evidently a group who had just come to cause problems and I felt sorry for the families in the Manchester United end who just wanted to watch a game of football."

Apparently we have to now finish 5th or win the Europa League to get back in to Europe. That's a big ask. Need to be playing in Europe to attract top players.

Yeah, don't condone that either. It stinks that grown men, usually, resort to such bottom of the barrel juvinile behavior. It's pitiful. Liverpool fans who do that should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm sure that you don't agree with your fellow United fans singing about the likes of Hillsborough either though do you, Seoul? Surely not. I mean you threw up some you tubes but was that just for justification?

It was definitely not for justification but just to counter the "our poop don't stink" feeling of the way the article was presented.

Human tragedy should never be brought into play - it is classless and has no place in the game. Sadly I don't think any teams followers (as a whole) are completely innocent in this regard.

I should say that 'Classy United fans' was meant to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I hate the biased use of the term 'class' in general.

It just doesnt make any sense to me, the article references that there were a group of United fans who showed up just to cause trouble. At a Youth game? Really? Alright then, must have a been a slow United news day or something.

I don't think the asses care which kind of game they go to - they go to cause problems and be belligerent jacktards.

But lumping United fans (in general) in with those losers is somewhat insulting.

Fair enough.

Have to agree with everyone. It isn't acceptable by any set of supporters at any time and the "they started it!" nonsense is the worst excuse going.

Exactly. All of us that frequent these football threads can get a little pissed, but none of us ever resort to anything that disgraceful.

Braga tomorrow. Need to score at least 2 goals. Carroll from the start I think. He caused them a bucketload of problems when he came on in the first game.
