I am not talking about the last 20 games. He was the starter going into the allstar break. All of a sudden, Smith gets the starts coming out of the break. Then you put in Rittich and then pull him after 2 goals against San Jose...Since then, Rittich hasn't done well
If not getting the Washington start (The only game Smith started before his string of games) is going to destroy Rittich's confidence that much he's not the goalie we hope he is.
