In the late 90s when I moved to the US, it was hard to be a Flames fan and my engagement with hockey significantly waned because it just wasn't there to watch. In effect I missed the Young Guns era not because I cashed out, but because I couldn't watch a game even if I wanted to...

I dunno man. I was an LA Kings fan for awhile but only because they took Gretzky from the most hated team on the planet and finally I had a reason to cheer for the best player in history outside of just watching international events.
