I met Troutman once. Don't seem to recall spitting on him.

So I wandered over to the beer taps and asked the one armed bartender (not even kidding) for a jug of beer. He poured it skillfully (remember he only had one arm) and I gave him a fiver. As he’s rummaging around in the coin tray I say to him “Keep the change”. The look on his face told me very few patrons ever said that to him.

This might have been the same night troutman got asked to dance by a large Native man, or it could have been the night a woman who spat cheezies onto his shirt followed him into the bathroom. My memory of nights at the Cecil has never been very good.
Were The Village People in town??

I got declined on a tip today. Was taking an Uber in Mexico - went to the tip screen after the ride and put in 50 Mexican Pesos (which is ~$3.50 or so, so it isn't like I'm high-rolling here). That was more than maximum programmed into the app and it declined it. I had to go back in and tip a lesser amount (it accepted 30 pesos). The ride was only like 100 pesos so I guess as a percentage that's a good tip, but it was like a 15 minute ride. Crazy that they would stop the driver from getting the higher amount.

Some lower income countries discourage tipping from foreigners especially in large amounts. I can't say I know all the fine points, but I have been told that it can be bad for the economy overall without balances in place.

I guess. I just like Uber so much more in Mexico than taking a taxi that I try to tip generously to help them secure drivers. It's way cheaper, but primarily I like the certainty of a price quote and not having to negotiate/explain where I'm going to someone I don't have a language in common with.

How do you stack them? Do you keep the fish alive, or kill them first? Seems a bit slimy to me.
