No hitters of any note were moved in this deadline so it’s hard to criticize them for deals they didn’t make. Everyone bargain binned for offence and some worked out and some didn’t. All the name players who were moved here were pitchers.

Holy ####. How did he ever get to the majors? He also looked miserable the whole time, almost like he was trying to actively play his way off the team.

The Cards gave him up for what amounts to little more than a bag of baseballs in terms of prospects so they knew that he was done. He held the fort at shortstop but he was worse than Bradley Zimmer by at the plate considering that DeJong had more regular at bats in his time here. Completely uncompetitive at bats.
