He has had shifts where he clearly showed his size and stick skills can dominate in the offensive zone. He just (a) has not adapted to the team and (b) has had linemates with no clue how to play with him..

I have a feeling whether Tree is here going forward or not is more up to him than the team
And he’ll be snapped up quick. Perhaps in Toronto while the Flames will hire either a GM with no experience or one off the scrap heap that tells the owners what they want to hear. Or Sutter.

Could have afforded this loss if we didn’t blow it against Philly and Vegas, but here we are. Let the death march to 9th place continue

That night in Montreal with Treliving and Huberdeau must be the world's most expensive dinner ever...

Every game is a must win. We have to play a full 60 minutes. The starting goaltender needs to be better. Yada Yada Yada

Yeah I don't mind the team going in a new direction, but you're right that is a fear that makes me second guess that view.

It’s funny how if the tables were turned and the flames were up at the moment, they’d be bent right over finding a way to squander the lead one way or another.

This is my great fear. Promoting Conroy or some other BS Feaster-like yes man and ensuring indefinite failure.

Why will he get snapped up? What’s he won?

If you ask me he’s badly damaged goods right now.

Well the last GM they hired had no experience so I could see them going that route again. Or Sutter.

Yup. That's my fear too. I can stomach a rebuild way easier than 8 years of scrambling to make the wild card spots.

I would not be surprised if he joins the Leafs. No matter what, he has a great reputation in the league. Someone will hire him.

I guess we will find out but I’m confident he’s highly regarded and will move on to a job with even broader responsibilities or for a marquee franchise

The book on ownership is written and any good GM has read it. No point coming here if the owner wants steady mediocrity instead of a proper build project.
