I believe that if they had put him in the line up with prior knowledge about the failed test they would have been disqualified thereby handing Finland silver and the US the bronze.

Yeah, all he did was start one game and play perfectly, then sat on the bench and supported his team enthusiastically. What a jerk.

Babcock: "There were lots of complaints early on that we didn’t score, I thought we were dominant."
Babcock: "Does anybody know who won the scoring race? Does anybody care? Does anybody know who won the gold medal?See ya guys." Exit left.

Canada has so much depth and so many good players of course there will always be a debate when the final roster is chosen. Not sure why we should all just shut up and not question anything.
Besides, if Kevin Lowe is part of the selection process we should all be concerned to some extent.

If you're a Lightning fan you gotta be happy knowing you have a guy who knows how to build a complete team. Yzerman has put together two different types of teams that won gold two different ways. Canada allowed 3 goals total while in 2010 they allowed 3 goals or more twice. Great general manager.
And the coaching too was just at another level. The team made maybe 7 or 8 mistakes the entire tournament. Just a supreme coaching job from Babcock, Julien, Ruff and Hitchcock, and Ralph Krueger was also a big help getting them ready for the big ice. Kevin Lowe rides more coattails to glory, what else is new?

Dominating performance from Canada and I don't think it was because Sweden is that bad, it's just that Canada kept getting better as the tourney went on.

That's really too bad. But I guess he's going out on top.

Been mulling over the game for the past while.
I'm really impressed that these guys care so much about the Maple Leaf that everyone left their egos at the door and played their systems to perfection. The forwards skated back to their zone hard EVERY shift and supported the D time and time again. Likewise, the D relentlessly attacked when appropriate.
There was multiple times in the game where Price was communicating with the skaters regarding Swedish players and lanes for breakouts.
Amongst the D, I think Weber had a tough game, but it wasn't a factor as his partner Keith had his best game. Doughty and Vlasic were solid, as was Bouwmeester. Bouw skated well and bailed out Pietrangelo a couple times who had a tough time staying on his skates, but played well otherwise.
Can't think of a forward who played poorly. Maybe Sharp. No real complaints.
Price was great. Kept his body in front of the puck, and steered harmless perimeter shots into the corners. Nice to see another appearance of the Sochi Miracle Post in the first period.
Sucks I have to work now. Have a good sleep everyone!

Huge throw out to Luongo, Suban and Smith. They didn't get to play much of a role over the tournament but they sure demonstrated that they were good team guys.

so I'm wondering it Ralph Krueger has accidentally-on-purpose hit Kevin Lowe with a champagne bottle during the post-game celebration.

The hockey team got to participate in the Closing Ceremonies this time around. Babcock looked like he was having a great time. Even Toews is smiling.

So impressive. Got to be honest, this might have been our best team. Dealing with the big ice made it tougher to score, but they just dominated and played well each game, today's performance was just dominate.
