I'm all for it!

I've got three kids, and it's my belief that the walk and the anticipation is far more effective than the spanking.
Usually when I send the kid to their room I'll wait for about 10 minutes before I spank them. It gives me time to cool off, and it increases their dread of what's going to happen. I find that I don't have to smack them all that often at all.
I'm really looking forward to when my boys are a few years older so that I can employ the physical labour tactic.
My favourite physical labour story is when this one kid egged our house, but dad saw who did it and told the kid's dad. The kid's dad sent the kid to our house to clean the entire exterior of the house. This was around October and it was pretty cold. The kid did a really good job, and when the kid's dad came by to check with my dad, my dad said he was impressed with the work. The kid's dad studied the house for a minute and decided it wasn't good enough. Sent the kid back to redo it. I don't think that kid ever egged another house.
