I see it's been mentioned already, but I wouldn't imagine pot smokers and Brittney fans would overlap that much... weird.
Unless all the parents are escaping 2 hours of hell.

i suppose we all have an artist or 9 that we all hate. crapney just happens to be at the top of my list.
i have many many reasons for it, but the main one is, i hate her music. to me its like listening to finger nails on a chalk board.
on the other hand, gwen steffani (sp?) is like 1a to crapney being number 1.

Gwen was great with No Doubt (especially early no doubt with the bigger ska influences) then she sold out and drove the suck off the charts.
But all this music is being made for 12-15 year old girls, they're the largest consumer group for small commercial items like CD's and such. So it's understandable that if you're not a 12-15 year old girl, you're not going to like most popular music...

ah, yes and no. someone said earlier that 10 yrs ago britney's demographic was for the 12-15 year olds. and all 3 of my sisters 10 years ago were 3 of those 12-15 yr olds. but, now brit's music isn't like it used to be...how bout her most popular song..."iF U seeK aME" i don't even know if thats the title, or if its spelled right, but thats the point of the song.
i'd say if she's trying to target 12-15 yrs olds then.....ugh, i dunno about her music....and all 3 of my sisters still LOVE her. so, ya, normally i would agree but more and more lately it seems she is going out of her way to escape that demographic.
which is also why the pot thing kills me. pot kettle, kettle pot. no pun intended of course...

Well I don't mean to be rude, but a single family isn't really a good sample size... Plus, like you mentioned, they started off liking her at that age, so it's quite possible they just still like her. We often keep our favorite bands/artists for quite some time.
Whether Britney (her producers really...) is still going for a young demographic or not, doesn't mean she wouldn't be trying to keep her now older fans. However, I think it's pretty common knowledge that most popular music is targeted towards tween-teen girls. That's why you get all the boy bands, 'girl power' female groups and soloists you do.
Lastly, a lot of music for that generation is getting racier (and more vapid) anyway. (haha, won't let me write the first part of the name)cat Dolls anyone? Girlicious? (I can't believe I just wrote that...). I don't really see how Brit is redefining herself or her music really... it's the same crap it always was, just not sugar coated (cause nothing is anymore)

well, this was kind of my point. my sisters started off liking them when they were that age that she was originally targeting, and they still love her. so, tahts why i say i don't think she's just targeting the youngins anymore.
and i wasn't saying my family is a sufficient sample size, i was using it as an example b/c i happen to have 3 sisters in that age range then and now.
and LOLOLOLOLOLOL in regards to the P cat dolls...LOLOL...so agree..

Imagine a chain smoker complaining about smoke...... Probably the same type of person who complains about the media, and privacy, but still drives around in a bright pink bus with her picture on the side of it. What a loser.

I still think that this has a lot to do with her familial and personal issues. Dollars to donuts that she has to submit to substance abuse testing. Remember that the Courts have adjudged her to not be able to make decisions on her own right now and that they have given that power to her father.
I'm not a brittney fan, but I can understand her concern.
