Winners is the greatest place for jeans. Just gotta take your time and pick through a little bit. The odd shirt or hoodie isn't bad from there, but it's mainly a jeans store for me.

Are there any fancy-pants jeans without all the embroidery/logos on the ass? I'm not really much for advertising on my pants and I've yet to take the plunge into fanciness, but the holes in my relatively new Levi's have me on the trolley to Fancy Street.

A couple hundred bucks for jeans does seem ridiculous, but it is a way better deal than a 750 dollar suit (which isn't even an expensive suit) that I wore twice and the numerous pairs of slightly expensive sunglasses that I've lost.

rock and republic is my favorite... i have seen some of thier washes with just plain pockets ... no marking on them at all but you can only buy those at sample sales..... here is another Rock and Republic pocket that isnt a sissy r or what not
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...%3D54%26um%3D1
and if you dont like the logo pockets you might try some diesels as they dont have pockets quite as stand outish.. or you might try 7 for all mankinds

Edit: should have just quoted rouge's post.
^ Yes. I would never buy any pair of jeans that have any crazy embroidering on the pockets.
If you're just looking into getting into denim, I would check out the aforementioned nudie and/or apc.
personally of the two I would go with apc, but both would be good.

i agree that spending around 40-80 is alright, but when you start getting really low in price, often the fit and wash look horrible. Note, i said often, not always...

I'm not a fanatic but do buy only expensive jeans now. I once found a pair of Diesels at Winners but never liked anything else I've found there. Rocks and my personal favorite.

Its not just about spending more, you have to try on hundreds of brands to figure out which ones look best on you. 7 for all mankind and Taverniti are the most comfortable and most flattering on me, I think, so I try to stick with those. But my addiction rarely shows restraint. If I go to Old Navy to pick up some tank tops I always seem to grab a couple of pairs of jeans. It doesn't matter what store I'm in, if I know what size I wear in a particular brand, I will grab a couple on my way to the register, I just can't resist. My favorites get worn, the rest hang in my closet rarely seeing the light of day. I have a couple in my Macys online cart right now, the minute they go on sale, I'm checking out. I can't be helped. I have tried on 350.00 magic jeans and they're amazing, but I would never spend that on jeans.

I see why people would spend such money on jeans and all but I really don't see the need for it. I don't think every single pair of jeans should be name brand but have the occasional pair for when you want to show off.
I think of jeans like shoes. Have a few comfortable shoes that you can wear and beat up and have a few nice shoes for the wow factor.

And I can't stand dry denims. If you're not going to wash those jeans.... yuck!!! Absolutely disgusting.

I usually try to stick to the $100 to $125 range. I find Guess usually do the trick for me, sometimes Buffalos. I used to be in the $60-80 range but found when I jumped up a price level, I got better looking, better fitting, and longer lasting jeans. Can't justify going any higher on what I make right now though.
