It would be far easier to provide assistance for the small group of people who cannot afford user fees than to create a system in which brings everyone's care down to the lowest common denominator.


As an add on, some people's idea of not being able to 'afford' users fees for health care plots health care expenses on par with discreationary purchases. I say if someone is unwilling to sacrifice drinking at the bar or going out to dinner or going to a movie for the sake of their own health then they shouldn't qualify for a subsidy or whine about user fees.
