Fully Italiano. Parents from the same town in Central Italy. Typical 1960's immigration stories from my folks.
Messing that up now by marrying a nice girl of Korean roots although she's even more Canadian than me, I think. Her folks are from North Korea. Their families fled in the 1950s. Now they have some interesting stories to tell.

50% German (although my Great Grandparents did emigrate from what is now the Ukraine (used to be Russia when they lived there)... but they definitely weren't Ukrainian... basically they were German peasant farmers living in Russia/Ukraine
25% Swedish/Finish (Great Grandparents lived right on the border--- who's to say what they were)
12.5% English (London)
12.5% Irish (might not be right about this though... I know they came from Ireland (Sligo) but is Leighton really an Irish name?)

British/Italian

On my dads side, aka the britsh side both my dads parents were from Bristol/Sommerset.

On my moms side both my grandparens were from Italy. A small village called San Angelo.

Its weird im probably one of the most pure "breeds" on CP. From family knowledge the only blood in my bloodline is strickly italian/british.

Its good to honor your heritage because in the end if someone didnt jump on a boat at some point and time back in the day you probably wouldnt be here........

My father was German, my mother is Irish. My wife is virtually all Irish, so my kids have a German surname but are 3/4 Irish.

Dad's side - 100% Greek, my grand-parents came from Greece to Saskatchewan, then my dad came to Calgary and met my mom at the UofC

Mom's side - I have some German, Welsh, Dutch, English, and French.... kind of sketchy here, but I heard that sometime way, way back, one of my ancestors slept with an already married Royal, haha

I have a decently interesting ancestry. I don't know anything about my great grandparents, and most of what I know is from my grandma on my mom's side.

Both my parents are from Vietnam, and both lived through the war there, my mom was stuck in the North and my dad's from the South. Hilariously enough my dad complains more about his experiences despite being more or less filthy stinkin rich, that and the fact that he wasn't constantly getting napalmed.

They moved here, I'm a first gen. Canadian and love it. Though explaining to people what I am exactly is a pain. Usually goes something like "Where you from?" Canada. "No, where are your parents from." Vietnam, but I'm Chinese. "No you're not, you just said your parents are from Vietnam." Yea...but they're Chinese. "No they're Vietnamese if they are from Vietnam." So...I'm Canadian, I'm from Canada. "No...you're Vietnamese, your parents are from Vietnam"

People are idiots sometimes.

Irish/Italian

My mom was born in Cieti and immigrated to Canada in 74.

My dads family came to Canada quite some time ago. Supposedly my great great Grandma (might be great great great or more for all I know) was raped by a British soldier, my grandfather killed the soldier and then the McCarron family fled on a boat to Nova Scotia

Father's side is entirely Ukrainian. Seeing big Easter egg up in Vegreville always bring me humungous pride before any reunion of family. Last year I win pierogi cabbage roll eating contest and bring great joy to clan. Apparently I am related to the famous Ukranian/Russian writer Nikolai Gogol too...

Mother's side is mostly English with a bit of Irish and Scottish I believe.

I'm of French and Irish decent. Apparently I'm related to Samuel de Champlain, the famous French cartographer who helped establish Quebec City; North America's first city, back in the 1600's.

Aside from cartography/exploring, he was also famous for strangling a local indian chief to death. Attaboy gramps, dont take any crap!
