Friends and letting them borrow your stuff

I just dropped nearly $100 to re-buy some of my favourite books that I lent to friends and never got back. This really bothers me...when I read a good book, I enjoy passing it on. But I would also like to accumulate a collection of my favourite books. Every time I lend one to a friend, I preface that with "I need to get this back when you've finished it."

It never fails...they enjoy the book, lend it to another friend and I never see it again. So I've started re-buying those books and unfortunately will have to stop lending books, since nobody seems willing to return them.

my case is just as bad I once loaned a friend a Cd and he never said anything to me about it for about a month then one day I ran into him by and I asked him for my Cd back and he told me to he couldn't get it because it'd cost him more to goto the pawn shop he took it too and buy it back than they gave him for it. Needless to say he was told never to ask to borrow anything from me again, cost me $10 to buy my own Cd back.

EHhh not an ex-friend he did text and apologize .... But i did find out he was online playing last night when i was texting and calling him wanting it back ..... but on the wife ehhh she is a lil controlling .... She practically begged me to move back to Oklahoma from missouri bc my friend had no one to hang out with ..... WHen i move back.. i never get to hang with him bc she wont let him out lol..... i found out why he lost all of out "old" friends haha
