Although you could fly Halifax-London England in a 737 (the distance is actually almost the same as Halifax-Vancouver), it isn't part of the plan at this point.
Part of the reason WestJet decided not to get a larger, longer range airplane for inter-continental work was too many airlines like Zoom that were selling for unsustainably low fares. Although we could break even or scrape out a very small profit in that market, there is more money to be made with more 737 type destinations. When that market firms up, and there is more opportunity with fewer competitors, don't be surprised if WestJet does purchase something like 787's and moves into the long haul travel biz.
