Just a quick mention to those who have asked why we haven't found him yet:
125,000 gorillas were discovered two weeks ago in central Africa that were never even known to have existed.
If we can't find 125,000 gorillas until now, how the heck can we track down a single primate combing the woods of North America? And even if we caught him, what the hell would we do with him? Showcase him in New York until he gets mad and climbs the Empire State building?
Giant squid were thought to be myth at one point too, now we know they exist.
I do have a hard time believing that sasquatches exist though.

One of the guys involved in this pulled off a big foot hoax a few years ago...
So between the choices of a) they found something and b) he's trying to boost the sales of his books and movies I'm going to have to go with b) for now.
Shut up and show the evidence.

Why on earth would a policeman put on a hoax like this? one would think people in the public eye would not do such a thing.
Money, desire for attention, subject to the same basic fallibility and gullibility that every human is subject to... Just because someone's in the public eye doesn't mean they automagically gain the ability to reason better than anyone else can.

so i didn't read the whole article, but in order to prove the existence in what has to be the most endangered species around they kill it and stuff it into a freezer? PETA's gonna love these guys...
Also, something about capturing an ape and putting him on display to the press sounds familiar....
They claim the bigfoot was found dead.
I would love for this to be true... primates are very cool but I know it is a load of BS. Just like all the other "discoveries" of the bigfoot.

I play hockey with a guy that can do the bigfoot walk perfectly. He even has the pause and slight turn down! It is the funniest thing to watch. It also helps that he is hairy enough that he could actually be bigfoot!
That damn Oscar Goldman was never around when Steve needed him, but was always there to take credit in the end.

Live stream of the press conference. It's pretty laughable.
They claim to have found a den where other "Bigfoot"'s live but they will not disclose the location because they don't want other people to disturb the habitat.
Keep in mind the ring-leader of this group is a well know hoax-ster and has been involved in a "Bigfoot" hoax before.

“I’ve always said ‘Show me the body,’ and now these guys claim that they have just that — a bigfoot body. However, remember the alien autopsy film from a few years ago—we need more than a photograph of a body, and if the body is shown to anyone, it should be a neutral scientific expert. Since the bigfoot body is in Georgia, I’ll be convinced if they take it to the Yerkes Primate Research center at Emory University, and if someone like primatologist Franz de Waal pronounces it genuine, then I’ll turn off my skeptical alarm bells and keep an open mind. Until then, I remain skeptical…
It now appears that the two men claiming to have “discovered” bigfoot faked a video showing a “scientist” examining the corpse, who turned out to be the brother of one of the bigfoot hunters. Although they are still claiming to have the real deal, this latest turn pretty much puts the story to rest. As we said, “show me the body”, not a photograph of a body, not a video of a body, and most certainly not a fake video of a fake scientist examining a body. —Michael Shermer
