I'm not gonna say that he doesn't dive and that he is an angel and all that. He dives, once in awhile. There is so much more to his game than that, and the good totally outweighs the bad. It's just too bad that more people don't respect him for being the special talent that he is. Should Portugal win this tourney, you can start putting his names with the all time greats. AND HE'S ONLY 23!!!!

In order to help recruit Ronaldo it is reported that Madrid plan to bypass Sir Alex Ferguson and present a bid straight to the club’s owners, the Glazer family, in order to secure their man.

The Glazer’s ownership of the club and the debts incurred are widely known and it is believed that a record offer of £70 million would be too much for the Americans to turn down.

This is hilarious, I hope Madrid get him. I can see it happening because if Scolari is going to coach Chelsea hes going to try and persuade Ronaldo out of the EPL and hes got the access to him at the time right before he makes his decision.

If anything bad happens to the Portuguese team in this tournament it will be blames on Ronaldo being distracted.

Zidane says United cannot stop renaldo from going to Madrid if he wishes.

Actually, they can, he is signed under contract for four more years. Sure Renaldo can refuse to play for Man U but they can still stop him if they wanted for at least 4 years.

European soccer contracts arent like NHL contracts. If Ronaldo wants to leave Man U he can terminate his contract there and simply pay the negotiated penalty that Real will likely foot the bill for.

But either he has to do it or Man U has to sell him which is where the transfer fee comes in.

If he doesnt want to leave Man U then there really isnt much Real can do unless they buy his contract which Man U has specifically said they wont sell.

As much as I really dont like Real Madrid they are persistent and have the resources to get their guy if they're determined.

I dont really care either way, as a Liverpool fan I hope they ship him out.

Where this could get really sticky is with Scolari telling him he should go to Real when he was the Portugal coach and then taking the Chelsea job. But I've always maintained that Scolari is a shady character.

I did a little digging, and man oh man was I right:

Quote:
"It [moving to Real] is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want," Ronaldo said in The Times. "For me it is a great opportunity and, as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it."
http://ukpress.google.com/article/AL...DU-oKPhRL0UpIA

Scolari really has a lot of influence on this kid and he used it. It really sounds like he wants to bail.

Best decision for him, I just hope we don't have to go thru this crap again next summer, but I have a feeling we will.
