Careful what you wish for Vlad, cooks are grossly underpaid and overworked. Unless your Mario Batali, it seems like a pretty tough job with very little monetary reward.

You'll be a great hit at your parties though, and everyone will want to be your friend.

I know, that's why I wish I was 20 - I barely made any money until my thirties anyhow. Now, it's not feasible...

Really? I'm not a fan of the F-Word. The British version of Kitchen Nightmares is my favourite of all the various shows he's done.

A very very solid meal though, and in any other restaurant would be considered a good one. I'm just pretty sure in a couple of days I won't even remember what I had.

I'd recommend it, but I think there might be better places in the city to spend that kind of coin. The only reason I went was that it was restaurant week, so it was basically half price...and still dropped $75 per person for 3 courses.
That's a good deal. My girlfriend and I went a couple years ago and it was close to $300 for the two of us after tax/tip, and that was with just one Crown & coke!

We really enjoyed it, the dishes were immaculate, and for what I had some of them were amazing in taste and texture (I had the chef's menu - 7 courses) she had the lobster which was, well, lobster.

I do think however that we enjoyed Tao more when we went there a couple days later - definitely a different dining experience though!

Yeah, the Chef's menu looked pretty fabulous....but a little out of our price range as Restaurant week was offering a 3-course menu only.

The drinks is where they seem to get you on the price. One glass of wine was $15, which you don't really realize till you get your bill, so it adds up quick for sure.

The absolutely best meal I've had in my life was in Spain. If anyone is going to San Sebastian any time soon, you would do yourself a great service to go to MB Kursaal. High-end quality at a very reasonable price.

San Sebastian in general is one of the best places to eat anywhere. It apparently has the highest number of Michelin stars per capita in the entire world. And from the 3-4 meals I had there, I can see why.

FYI, on tonights Kitchen Nightmares episode, the restaurant Mohito's is actually in my building. Very curious to see how this turns out, as the service in this place is horrible. Everything arrives 45 minutes late and your orders are screwed up. It's still around though, but I really don't see many visual changes. Not sure about the food, I stopped going there a long time ago after way too many bad experiences.
