The last 2 episodes have had flash forwards with the charactors. I wonder if that will be the new trend for the rest of the show, or if they will revert back to having flashbacks?

I love the idea of the forward flashes, i hope it stays this way. 3 seasons ( 60 odd episodes) of flash backs, 4 seasons (45 episodes) of flash forwards. Works for me.
Anyone else think its weird that Hurley saw the dude in the cabin on the chair? guess Locke's not so special for seeing or hearing him then.

According to Lostpedia, the guy Hurley saw sitting in the rocking chair was Jack's Dad.

I really don't like it. One of the things with Lost is they have been able to kill off characters. For example I thought Charlie was going to be able to make it out alive; but obviously not. Added some suspense to the show.
Now they can never put Kate, Jack, or Hurley into danger because I know they will each make it out alive.

thats probably why they've only showed us 3...because they want the suspense there with the others. we all pretty much know that jack and kate and hurley were going to survive anyways.
hurley is too lovable and jack and kate are far too central to the show to kill off unless they had a very, very, very good reason.
what caused hurley to change his mind and go with jack instead of locke though?

He didn't.
He even apologized to Jack in the flash-forward saying "I should have went with you instead of Locke" to which Jack said " its just water under the bridge".

Which is one thing that makes it confusing - Jack and Kate are in one group and rescued, Hurley was in the other group and rescued, yet only 6 were rescued?
That's assuming "Oceanic 6" refers to only 6 people being rescued - perhaps the "6" refers to something other than the number of people rescued.

Does anyone recall the conversation Hurley had with the cop when he was being interrogated?
The cop mentioned that he knew Ana Lucia and asked Hurley if he possibly met her before the flight or on the plane. He never asked him anything about the possibility of her being a survivor on the island.
Also Hurley was quick to say he didn't know her. Why would he lie?
I think the Oceanic 6 either took off and left everyone on the island somehow. Or they killed them or something.
There is obviously a big secret that Jack, Kate and Hurley don't want to let on.
I think as far as the public know there were only 6 survivors and Jake, Kate, Hurley, and the other 3 want to keep it that way for some reason.
Maybe that is why Jack wants to go back. To go get the other people they left there.

I don't think so. The way I'm guessing this season or next season progresses, is that everything that happens on the island will catch up to the flash forwards. For example, eventually Jack and Hurley may decide to go back to the island to save/rescue,etc. those that were left behind, if they're still alive.
So there may still be the possibility that they go back to the island eventually a second time and don't make it out alive. Not that I sit there every episode wishing that a character was killed off.

I expect that in the final season, there will be on-island events that happen after the current round of flash-forwards. That would be most satisfying for the fans, so that's the obvious direction the writing should take.

As for the O6, what about Desmond's vision in season 3 about seeing Claire get on a helicopter?

The last line in the series will be jack turning to the camera with a smirk and saying "Its true they do taste like Chicken" while Hurley goes running by in the background with a crazed look on his face screaming "Soylent Green is People"

Just one detail bothers me. The Naomi woman gets a knife in her back and none of the people even check if she's dead (neither in the end of season 3 or the last episode). I mean, they are celebrating, setting up camp, and there's Naomi with a huge knife in her back right in the middle of it all. That was messed up. They treated her like small roadkill.

What I want to know is who the guy is that is dead, in the flash forward???
Jack called Kate to meet at the airport in the flash forward and asked if she went to the funeral and showed her the piece of news paper jack ripped out.
Could it be sawyer?

I'm thinking that Michael and/or Walt show up sometime this season and offer to take Jack back to the island.

I'm guessing it was Michael. Remember he betrayed the rest of the castaways to get himself off the island. Also in the first season they kept showing him being estranged from his wife, then she died, so it fits that there would be nobody to attend his funeral.
Combine that with the fact that when Jack gets out of his Jeep he is in a predominantly black neighbourhood; and the only other black person still alive on the island is Rose- and we saw in her flashback that she is from somewhere cold. (She met Bernard when he helped push her car in a snow storm.) Judging by Jack he is obviously still in California.

I can't see how it would be Walt, simply for the fact that in real life he has grown up quite a bit (I read that in the scene he was in last season, they did the shot looking upwards (from Locke's view in the pit) to disguise his growth). Although I guess we don't know how far forward the "flash forward" is, so perhaps they could get away with it.
