I always thought it would be awesome if a girl could consistently challenge me on my sports knowledge. Seriously, I'm not sure why that wouldn't be attractive? Having someone to talk to all the time about hockey would just float my boat (among other things, of course... ). My current girlfriend has no clue about anything sports related, except that she or I might play the occasional soccer game once in a while.

Oh, and now I have to go for a cigarette. I thank this thread for reminding me.

A girl who knows a lot about sports is better than some of the stuff I have run into over the years.

I once dated a girl who thought Batman was real and based on a true story! She was 21, and I am dead serious. It wasn't long after that things ended.

Bingo. I don't want to date an ordinary person. I want to date someone that's not like the others; one that can distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack.

Finding a normal, ordinary girl with plain beliefs and goals is easy. Finding a girl that consistently challenges your own goals, intellect and adventureness while standing out from the rest is hard as heck - and these are the girls that are TRULY worth pursuing.

But where do we find these girls? And what are the odds they'll be single?

I guess we'll just have to keep our eyes open...

Muta is right that is the kind of girl you should be after, but rarely are they single…but don’t let that stop you

geez,
and all this time my biggest complaint is not being able to find single hockey loving girls...I should hang out on CP more often
whats worse though than a girl that does know her sports, is a girl that doesnt know anyhting and some guy that is trying to teach her the game is talking out of his ass trying to impress her with his "knowledge". Which she then believes to be true and starts spouting off the same garbage
I was at a game earlier this year, where Nilson went down to block a shot a the point, buddy turns to the girl he's with, and no word of a lie says, "Hes like Kiprussoff, but on skates"
WTF!?!?!?!

Because it's fun, it gives you confidence and most importantly it gives you practice. Just make sure to keep it casual and never lead anybody on.

There are at least 4 or 5 in this thread alone.

Wouldn't that be adventurousness?

Perhaps CP needs a dating service...

You girls are rare to find.. In my experience I've only ever dated one that even came close..

Yes...

I was eating a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup at the time, so I couldn't be bothered for minute details, such as spelling.

I know.

I was just trying to annoy them.

For the OP: this is an example of the "pigtail pull" flirtation technique. It's a little known fact that girls love being annoyed. Have you ever wondered why they seem to get annoyed so often? It's because they love it. Try annoying this girl on facebook. It will get her attention and make her like you.

Give me my sports loving, intelligent, smoker, beer loving, occasional farting, and potty mouthed passionate about subjects cute and sexy girlfriend any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

It makes her human and hot.

Of course, I'm quiting smoking and she's not ready yet, I've pretty much quite drinking, and she still likes going to pubs. Should be interesting.

I'm not a fan, or advocate, of breaking up relationships... but J Pold, you're right...

...if there's a girl (who isn't married - trust me, I've been throught that) and is in a relationship, she's fair game, IMO. Just because some girl has a boyfriend, don't let that stop you - it hasn't stopped me in the past. You put yourself out there and let her know that YOU are a unique person to come along, and give her the impression that you're better than her current boyfriend for a list of reasons.

It's how I got to be dating that girl I'm seeing now.

Hey, it's survival of the fittest, right? Just make sure you do it in a tasteful way.

Mango, I can't believe you actually ran into a living, breathing neanderthal. Did you call any of your anthropologist friends? They would have been tres interested.

In all seriousness though, women who are into/know about sports are so ridiculously attractive to me. My wife, bless her heart, knew nothing at all about sports when we met seven years ago but she tries so hard and has learned A LOT about all the sports I like ... makes me want to learn about her stuff .... and makes her exponentially more attractive with each passing day.
