Bag of frozen pees, are good advice.
Oh yeah, and it didn't cost me anything.

Here Here for Anisthetic (SP?)
Knocked out for mine as well. Also had a laproscopic procedure done at the same time.
I hurt like a MOFO for about 2 weeks afterwards. More from the Lapro , not the vas.

My husband had it done about 10 years ago now.
Yes, it is reversible depending on the procedure, but the sooner the better. I believe the doctor said after 2 years, the chances of successfully reversing were slim to none.
Yes, he was uncomfortable for about 48 hours, but not in serious pain even after the anesthesia wore off. Although he had a fairly large bruise that kept him freaked out for about 4 days.
He said the worst part was the little tug on the vas the doctor gave him - made him feel fairly nauseous.
No he didn't pay for it.
Nothing was different in his performance. I still have a mess to clean up after and I always end up sleeping in the wet spot - the jerk!
And I'll be first to say "Good Man" on behalf of all women everywhere who wish there were more men out there that would step to the plate.

Keep in mind that I am young... and I can see why guys and their wives would want to have this procedure done... but I don't think I'll be doing it ever. I don't like doing anything that is permanent.

What? Like marriage? Or Children?
I actually found it a rather easy choice to make.

this is a great thread.
let me use these two phrases together and it will sum it up for me..
"wife nagging me" and "to get it done".
i'm gonna have to bite the bullet one of these days soon...

Its means to an end McG. Is sex better with a condom? And do you really want more kids? If either answer is yes, don't get it done. If you get two nos. Get the snip.
Short term pain, long term game.

Sure.
In the joyous moment of victory, he throws his race car across the board, spilling all the hotels and houses and chance cards out onto the table, then dances away leaving me to rifle it all back into the box. I inevitably miss one of the pieces and step on it, imbedding it in my foot, while on the way to put the game board back in the closet for next time. Jerk.

Yeah, he was great. My wife, an RN, came in with me during the procedure, and it turns out they have a bunch of people in the medical profession in common.
It really wasn't that big of a deal. I had it done less than an hour ago, and the freezing hasn't worn off, so time will tell.

Congrats to the newly neutered.

Thanks.
No problems so far. The area where he made the incision hurts very little, but I'm surprised at how uncomfortable my lower abdomen is. When I was in my teens, I was hit in the nether region by a tennis ball while playing street hockey. I was right on top of this guy, and his stick was slivered due to extended use so it was like using a nine iron, and he pounded one into my crotch. As Danny Gallivan would say, it was a cannonading drive.
My lower belly ached for a few days after. Today reminds me of that.
