A more recent thread, but that guy that called out Cowperson was hilarious.
|
The really bizarre thing about that thread was he started it just as I was about three seconds away from leaving for an important meeting that would consume hours and really didn't participate much in it at all.

The funny thing about that was that it seemed like you sent out your foot soldiers to do your fighting, while you sat back in true Napoleon style and directed traffic.
Like I said, I felt kinda sorry for the guy at the bottom of that dogpile. I enjoyed the read, though.

Wasn't there something about salt and that poster Modano? Some drunken posting I believe? That was a long time ago.

Speaking of drunken posts. Anyone else remember the thread were an Oiler fan introduced himself and it turned into "FlamesFanF80" or something like that turning into a drunken love fest. It was bizarre.

I'm gonna have to say this walk down memory lane should be considered one of the best all time. For people like me who lurked in the past, and I still don't consider myself a "key" poster, it's a great way to see how this site has developed over the years.

This place should really have a thread hall of fame.
Anyone else remember the time Sun sports editor Mark Hudson showed up and talked big to every? In that thread he said he didn't talk with people who had internet handles (yes, on the internet) so he would only talk with myself (Adam_Peddle)
Very funny. Someone found that thread not to long ago, it was interesting looking back at the site. No avatars, no sigs, no emoticons. Very basic, but the site was only about the discussion, I miss that part.

I don't know, are we talking about me or you?
Have you really been signed up for 2 years now Fotze? I thought you only started posting recently.

There was a thread last summer where one Lanny MacDonald came back from hollidays and wanted to know what was new with the Flames. Bingo mentioned that not much had changed, but Willy Plett's announced come back was a bit of a shocker. Lanny bought the story for like half an hour before Reg Dunlop finally posted a picture of a kid holding a fish symbolizing that he had fallen for the Willy Plett comeback rumor hook, line, and sinker. I think the Willy Plett comeback made it onto every other Flame board around. Apparently Sutter loves them South American boys.

Hockey players need your help...for just 20,000 dollars a week you can help a hockey player....
You get the point. That's got to be the one that was posted the most. In the end I found it quite hilarious each time it came anew.
I've remembered some pretty big and bumpy Gauthier threads too. I'm pretty new to OT but there's been doosies there, especially recently. I'm a rookie though there (and in general compared to most) like I said.

Ha ha that definitely gets in the top five. Good call, that one was great.
You just know that guy was sitting there thinking "I work for the Sun, I'm a professional, I'll tell this bunch of clowns what is what".

One of my favourites other than the Kitten Eating Zidlicky that actually got him booed at a game.. Oh and the boo-ee of the night..
Was the All Brand picture thingy.. where you could find a picture, then type something weird for a sign someone was holding..
Too funny.
Oh.. and just for fun..
DANCE!

I remember some people who weren't in on the joke hopped on the game thread and started asking about what Zidlicky did to the kittens. Fools!

The Kitten thread also spurned the Stillman volunteers at old folks homes so he can break their respirators or something like that.. haha

When a certain poster now under a different handle suggested to some of his debate opponents that he knew how to use a knife and don't think he hasn't pulled one before . . . . . well, that made for an interesting evening.

The Epic 3000 post on politics that Cow mentioned....hes right that that particular post probably brought Off Topic out of the closet....right vs left in the 1st big battle.

No, I'm pretty sure that was the Stillman funnels money to Iran so they can continue their nuclear program and support terrorists. Then someone got all p*ssed because they were concerned that someone might read it and think it was true. Good times man...Good times.

amazing_oilers. The had some fan article up on thescore.ca for some reason that said the Flames play the trap. Transplant99 and Reg took him to school on both this board and Oilfans.com because he couldn't explain what the trap was.
He also owes me 10 dollars I think. re:Flames making post seaosn, OIlers not.
