I lurked for about 2 years, reading every day, then joined at the start of last year (under a different name, RedOctober). Didn't ever post much, forgot my old password. Signed up again in March.

I was at the sportsnet form under the same name, but then that board went down and when a new one came up, I didnt like it so a friend told me about this site.

I joined and got in trouble on my first post.

Some guy named Jordan claimed he was a Turek fan too

I found the site shortly after I moved to Calgary in Oct 03. I didn't bother to register/post until March 04, I believe. Not sure why I waited so long.

I kew about the site for over two years and lurked for over a year. Found out about it from friends I had made being a season ticket holder in good ol section 218. Decided to get a membership when the Flames did the impossible and made the playoffs so I could share my elation with others just as excited as I.

Over the years as a Flames fan I had things I really wanted to express and had no idea there was an internet chat forum for this type of thing. I had attended various events sponsored by the Flames e.g. breakfasts, meetings, etc. and occasionally phoned the Flames management, when I wanted to express something.

Last June/04, shortly after the playoffs ended, someone had mentioned the name Calgarypuck in conversation and I looked the name up on Google and started reading the various posts.

It wasn't until August 7/04 that I decided to join and make my first post.

I never lurked. I posted on the official Flames board from the beginning of last season until about the time the playoffs started. The board went ape sh*t during the playoffs and I went back for a while after the playoff ended, but the nutcases (aka Women and 12 year olds) on the official board drove me away for good. I actually ended up linking to Calgarypuck from the Sensnetwork message boards. Signed up right away and crossed my fingers that it wasn't like the official board. However, and unfortunately, I'm still waiting to actually have something meaningful to talk about

I lurked for maybe a week or two and then started posting.

I can't remember if I heard about the board from a guy from school or on another website. It may have been both.

I saw Calgarypuck mentioned on the official Flames board, did a google search for it... and here I stayed.
Lurked for 4 months or so before I finally registered.
