Never ever EVER again!
Nobody could be worse than Air Transat.
After the guy in front of me exchanged words with a girl behind him, and was told he was going to be sedated by a screaming stewardess...
Damn, it was just so ghetto.

Nope, the airlines themselves configure the seating which ever way they want on the tracks in the floor. I believe that besides cutting down on leg room to get a few more rows in, AirTransat also uses narrower seats, and then squeezes an extra seat into every row, which also results into a narrower isle. That is also why you have lower luggage limits, the weight of those extra people adds up and the plane has a finite carrying capacity.

Of course not, that would have been rude.

I think you might have sparked something!!!!!
Its brutal... The limit is 20kg or 44lbs per person. Frick, most of the luggage they make now a days weigh that much, meaning if you put more than 3 shirts and a tube of toothpaste in your bag you are over the limit.
Also to make matters worse, those limits are rarely enforced going down, but coming back the front counters enforce them like its a federal crime to go over the limit without paying!!!!!

DO I also have to lift my armrest if a tubby guy's right asscheek might be comfortabler resting on my thigh? Do I have to give noggin to the basketball player that I run into, cause hey, I'm down their anyway.

Sorry, how does not being able to recline limit your leg room? You know what nevermind - after reading this:

I realized there must be issues. Is this a 'I'm too short to ride at the Stampede' thing?
You're so right though, I certainly have no room to bitch when the majority of airline patrons are perfectly comfortable whether the person in front reclines or not. It's my own fault for not getting a better job so that I could ride in the Exec class with the rest of the oppressed.
Terribly sorry to ruin everyone's day with my obviously unique issues and yes please feel free in the future to excercise your airline-given right to recline, guilt free. Common curtesy is so yesterday.

Yeah, thanks for the kick in the pants. Not everyone gets a raise okay buddy?
I'm going to go ahead and cry myself to sleep now.

I know this was said party tongue in cheek, but I see these as two different things. You are entitled to your seat. By reclining back you are then taking away space from the person behind you. By not lifting your armrest for fattie you are just limitting him to stay within his seat.
I had a similar situation happen to me on the way back from DR 2 years ago. A girl all of 5' 2" and probably had to run around in the shower to get wet went and reclined her seat into mine. I managed to make eye contact with her friend, and the friend said "I think you just killed the guy behind you." It was pretty much a red eye flight, and we all agreed to not recline our seats. Also worked out well for chickie in front of me because she was nice; I was also nice enough to share my licorice with her on our food-less 7 hour flight.
Anyways, I'm off to go play some basketball.
