It doesn’t help that the team’s passive defence in their own zone leads to long stretches in their own zone. By the time they get the puck, all the players on the ice need a line change. Hence it becomes a case of dumping the puck in without puck pursuit.
Yeah, you think smart players would learn from what the other teams are doing to the Flames - both to replicate it for themselves and to prevent it from happening to them.

It’s almost like the coach is telling the players to play hockey badly. I mean he sure seems to demand a lot of dump and chase from skilled guys.

Watching on PVR listened to the game on radio.

Cooley was awesome. Good for him.

Same old same old junk from the rest of the team. 1 goal per game average is disgraceful

It all gets easier from here... Well, maybe after Saturday night in Vegas.
Then double Jets lol

I swear though...it gets easier. League low 6 back to backs left

Another 20 or so games like this and we may actually commit to a rebuild. Of course, our assets won't have any value by then. But yay?

Pachal had a brutal game.

Think it might be time to give Kuznetsov a chance

Normally I like Pachal, but tonight was one of his worst.

Yeah, it’s a tough schedule but they will have to go on an insane run to even get back to a possibility. This team is really struggling towards score and they don’t seem to have another gear at the moment. We will continue to see how they respond.

I’ve really like Honzek the last two games. Good jump, creating chances, hard on the puck.

I'm fine that we lost. And I'm fine with with Huska's defense first strategy. When the team become a contender the top players should be comfortable to play defensive hockey for sure.
But I think we should also try some very offensive strategy during the game and rely on some young player to change the game flows when the team needed.

Honzek had a decent game. The youngsters are not the problem.

Maybe they need to finally bottom out. I'm not going to celebrate it, but I can accept it with indifference.

What’s the realistic ceiling for this iteration of the flames? Seriously. I’d wager we saw it last year, maybe you make the playoffs but get pumped round 1. This isn’t going anywhere. Been banging this drum for a while but let’s embrace the suck and roll the dice on getting a generational talent, one from western Canada that would actually want to be here. You get that and then suddenly this team has a clear future, a chance, a superstar that we haven’t had since iggy. It’s what we need

Kadri looks lost out there. They need to find a way to get him going

Kind of funny that it feels like Honzek has been around forever, but he is only 20. I don't think I have seen a player get as many bad bounces. Seems criminal he hasn't gotten his first NHL point yet.
