I also think Morton may be the Flames best option at 4th line center so hopefully the bottom feeder teams aren’t thinking the same thing.

You saw how big his ass was and deduced that?

Interesting that Miromanov isn't skating with the main group.
Maybe the thought is to cut him late so he actually gets claimed, instead of sneaking through waivers?

If everyone gets through waivers the Wranglers should have a really solid group of defenders this year
Kuznetsov
Solovyov (Assuming)
Poirier
Grushnikov
Miromanov (Assuming)
Brzustewicz

Oh man, that would be a great spot for him.

I don't see Cooley getting any more pre-season starts. Prosvetov might.

The competition is between Kerins and Kirkland I think.
The Flames need a spare center.

Similar to Ovechkin, Tarasenko, Drysaddle, Kaprizov. When they were drafted their butts look like they’ve done a million squats and will have man strength/stability for all the NHL battles to come. Kuznetsov gave me similar vibes.

I was thinking this last night. If there was a place to slot him in off the start that would be the ideal line to do it.

50/50 chance Kuznetsov clears.
Love that Gridin is pushing for a spot. Flames are missing shoot first players (only two currently in the lineup are Bison and Sharky). Don't think he is fully ready yet but he could add a really nice element to the line up whenever he gets his chance.

it's still just preseason so you can't over think things ... but those lines looked like they took an already weak first line and instead made two average 2nd lines, two third lines and a fourth line.
Looks like a big break for Gridin for Friday?
Parekh on his off side ... somewhat helpful in your own zone (body opens up), tough keeping pucks in at the blueline.

Two underperformers and a puck hog. I’m not seeing that one.
It’s the top line too. Yeesh

Flames have a very tough roster for slotting. Guess you just start the season and work out the lines in the first 15-20 games

He’s more like a rover. Might not matter. I figured they would put Pachal on his off side

Crazy bacon legs says Gridin has simply switched it into Guaranteed Beast mode and locked himself a position down with Backs and Coleman
His stone cold performance last night sealed the deal and in the words of Fake Kipper ....he simply cannot be defeated. Mwah ha ha ha ha!!!
At least ....that's what I'd hope that's what he'd say. #51 is the guy to watch making certain other players expendable.
Seriously. This kid is gonna be awesome. I'd bet Coleman and Backs had some input in on this

Disagree. Sharangovich will be back to his old self this season and could be quite a duo with Kadri. He finished the year strong and really struggled with the ankle injury early on. No reason to expect Farabee to be as bad as he was either.

It would make sense that Parekh's puck-handling skills would likely make him the best among the D-men at playing the puck off his backhand at the opposing blue line. Much more goes into it than that, obviously, but it can't hurt to give it a try.

The line makes sense to me.
Kadri or Sharangovich carries the puck in when possible.
On the dump and chase, Farabee is a puck retrieval guy. Kadri to a lesser extent can do the same.
Kadri is a puck hog, and will skate around a lot with the puck, but he can cycle with Farabee down low, or move out high and find Sharangovich at the side of the net or in front with a tip. Farabee can move in to clean up any rebounds.
I think there's a style match somewhere in there. Time will tell...
