I hope they have Iggy come in and give a pregame pep talk to the team.

No one has scored more goals, points, or game winning goals against the Wild than Iggy has.

IMO the Kylington / Bean scenario ended up as a failure for both team and player.

Bean is pretty mediocre overall and didn't really help the team much.

Kylington never got a good contract, and didn't really fit in anywhere.

He would have had a clear role on this team to provide speed and transition from the backend, and it's a shame in the end it wasn't worked out.

Fixed the lineup post. Good to see Frost in there though. I don't understand the reticence to change things. These guys look spent.

Ryan Huska making the most passive and safe coaching decision is not a surprise, it's who he is.

It's why Kevin Rooney is still 4th line C instead of Rory Kerins.

It's why Zayne Parekh isn't playing until they get eliminated.

And it drives me crazy. "safe is death" and the Flames have a coach that will take no risk and is safe to a fault.

Ryan Huska reminds me of my Grade 10 math teacher.

Nice guy. Timid. No risk.

Everyone knows we’ll get eliminated tonight then play Parekh next game where he’ll have 3 powerplay points

The team looks tired and hurt. Why not put some fresh legs and something to get excited about.

Playing it safe, meanwhile the current group has brought you to a sub 10% chance of making the playoffs. Pretty dumb move on Huskas part.

Here's the thing.

In terms of the playing style on the ice being "safe" this year - that's not too much of a surprise. The roster isn't that talented and low risk / defensive structure is probably what any coach is going to deploy with this roster. And the team probably did out perform expectations.

BUT when given an opportunity to take a little risk with your player deployment / roster decisions you need to be able to assess that decision.

Stuff like Kerins not being called back up even though Zary, Frost, and Pospisil have all been nursing things makes no sense. He's a guy that can provide an offensive spark like he did in his 5 games earlier this year.

And not playing Parekh now is also too safe - you have a blue chip prospect that can completely alter the Powerplay which has been a pain point for most of the season, and you're too scared to use him now at the risk of him making a mistake.

The team playing a safe game on the ice is not a surprise, but the organization making the "safe" decisions off the ice all seasons is what has been very frustrating.

I would be putting Zayne into help the PP but I don't agree with Kerins.
He got filled in. I wouldn't trust him in a crucial game like this.
I also don't think you can take a chance with Suniev. This is not a blue chip guy we are talking about.

Zayne yes.

Cmon guys, Zayne is only one of the highest scoring Dmen in OHL history but how would the Flames win without the poise and grit of Jake Bean!! I honestly have no idea how the Flames ever won a game without Bean, we just cannot simply afford to sit such an essential part of this team for a player who only can score goals and get assists. This team clearly does not need someone who can score goals to win them games, you all are just not smart enough to understand how valuable Jake Bean is
