^ Agreed, and Huska mentioned it too. Not enough quality chances

That’s the game story, it’s pretty plain and simple

I don't know how anyone could pin that loss on Vladar. The two that beat him were virtually unstoppable.

When Kevin Bahl is your most dangerous offensive player all night, you're going to have a bad time. I thought Walker Duehr had one of his better games of late. Really moved well all over the ice and made some good plays, just doesn't have the skill to produce much offense.

Kerins looked decent again. He's not flashy, but he seems to understand where to be on the ice pretty well. Has some skill, but it's his hockey IQ that seems to be his best asset.

That was just a grinding defensive affair. You could see the Flames make the right plays, but nobody had the wheels to separate themselves from a defender because of the back to back on the road.

Because blaming the goalie is the easy thing to do and on CP for some reason when the Flames get a new younger goalie a bunch of people turn on the other goalie.

At one point Vladar was the guy who should take over and would have beat the Oilers in the playoffs easily and now that Wolf is on the team he's trash and should be put on waivers.

Meh...I dont pin it on him at all. That game was UGLY. No flow, tired team and it was 2-1! What more do want from Vladar?

Sorry campers, if you only score 1 goal you're not going to win a lot of games. Thats just the deal.

You're in St. Louis, the game is over, snag some ribs and BBQ and move on to the next one. No harm, no foul.

That game was 3.6 Roentgen.

Bahl was funny - sheathing his stick after his goal. I thought the 4th line was good. Huberdeau was good (minus the horrible pass to the Blues ending in a breakaway) but his linemates were not. Coronato was OK but couldn't get his shot off. Weegar was good.

The Blues played a pretty good defensive game, especially on the PK. They successfully cut off the far side of the Flames powerplay, so it was really 4 on 4 all the time.

Rory Kerins!!! sitting at the top of the expected goals for the team in this game by large margin.

I, for one, refuse to be excited.

Something I think Parekh will bring that the flames desperately need in their system is a defenceman that gets pucks to the net consistently. It’s a skill thee are t few defencemen have. Even good defencemen like Weegar and Andersson can struggle with. And if you watch Parekh’s highlights, he is very good at creating those lanes to get the puck to the net and actually hit the net. I think Hughes is the best in the league at this right now. That skillset can be so valuable.

It was really evident last night. The flames were trying to run their offence from the point and they were missing the net so much it was frustrating. It took Bahl stepping in closer to finally get a decent shot on net from the defence.

I’m sure it will be years before Parekh develops into a top pairing defensemen (if at all) but I really, really hope they make him the primary defenceman on the powerplay earlier than that. They really could use it.

They have several - 2 already that I remember, and another coming up. In every case, the B2B team also plays the night before and then travels to Edmonton. Totally fair, right?

Mews averages like 4 shots on a net a game.

I recall Andersson talking about getting more shots on net before the 22/23 season they had a number mind. Obviously, that was under Sutter so they could just be talking about tossing muffins from the point in the name of volume.

These guys seem to get deeper into the zone and the middle of the ice to shot.

Your most important game of the year, and you play your 3rd best goalie on the team.
Over-playing Wolf is not the answer. It was a B2B on the road, which they split. Mission accomplished.

The first goal was not a rebound, FFS. Hanley blindly gifted it to Parayko, who sniped.

More importantly, it's a 3-2 league. Vladar did his part (and more), but the offense didn't show up. Blaming Vladar for that is not just lazy, but pretty ridiculous, for anyone that watched the game.
