This is great. Really like all the moves so far today but this is just a great deal for both sides. Great term, affordable. Happy for him he earned it.

I still don't love this player.
His age, and this contract don't look terrible at the end of the day and I hope he can get better in year 2 for the Flames. By the time this contract kicks in, this'll be about 6.15% of the salary cap - so while I don't love it, it's not some terrifying AAV/term. At this, he can be a 3rd line winger who plays on the PK and PP and it's likely okay value.

I think this deal will be bought out with 1-2 years of term left. I think we see the best of Sharangovich last year and was hoping he was going to be flipped as a rental this year. Hope I am wrong but end of the day this isn’t going to screw the Flames in any way

I don't like the term, but compared to inexplicably Zadarov getting 6 years, I'd much rather have this.

I would have flipped him because I just want more assets for the next couple of draft, but I guess this isn't an immediately bad contract.
I do think he is going to struggle to replicate his season this year and would have waited mid-season to re-sign him if that was the direction they wanted to go.
