Wait, so am I reading this right?
Vegas claimed Denisenko on the 6th and then waived him on the 8th?

I’d take a long look at JAD, Rosen and Greer. These guys seem like upgrades on Schwindt, Hunt and Oesterle.

They're probably betting that Florida won't claim him back and they can stash him in the AHL. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened.

Okay. I was just wondering.
I have no idea who that is, just found it odd to see his name pop up more frequently than others.

I’ve always liked Greer, back to his draft year. He’s 6’3”, and has always been a good skater, and he’s added plenty of toughness and meanness to his repertoire.

I mean, I’d take just about anything over Hunt/Schwindt honestly… they both are nothing more than career AHL guys at this point.
But we have guys like Zary who would cost nothing to replace.

I know, that is why he is in the AHL...they don't want to give away Vladar

My hope is that we find any upgrade over these guys or Klapka/Gilbert/Sokolov.
The summer of underwhelming stretches into Fall

Anderson-Dolan’s cap hit is less than Schwindt’s and the same as Hunt’s. He’s probably as good a target as the Flames are gonna have before opening night. He’d fit in as the team’s 4C so nicely between Coleman and Duehr. That would a hard working line with some skating ability. I’d line ‘em up like this:
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Sharangovich
Mangiapane - Kadri - Dube
Ruzicka - Backlund - Coronato
Coleman - JAD - Duehr
Lavoie’s cap hit is just a little higher than Schwindt’s. He would be a fun pick up. The Flames could move pieces around to make a good spot for him.
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Coronato
Mangiapane - Kadri - Dube
Coleman - Backlund - Lavoie
Sharangovich - Ruzicka - Duehr
I do have to say that it would feel a little weird to pick up Lavoie off waivers after cutting Zary. But Lavoie is a year older and not waiver exempt. So, maybe this could be explained to Zary?

J Anderson-Dolan was a second-round pick (#41), and has some exemplary stats from his junior days.

Can Greer play C? That would be about perfect right now.

I've never known him to play C, but you're right- that would be the ideal scenario.

Travis Boyd would play decent Center minutes on the 4th line IMO.

LOL? You act like that's uncommon and doesn't happen.
The waiver wire is FULL of players with higher draft pedigree who have topped out at AHL waiver fodder at best, its what this whole thread is about.
At age 22 (most are drafted at 17/18) you've now had 4-5 years in the pro's to prove if you've got it... it is what it is. It's more uncommon to have someone break out at 24+ than it is to have someone bust @ 22.
What about Hunt/Schwindt leads you to believe that either of them have a chance to produce at an NHL level? It's not unreasonable at all, its the sad truth honestly.
