I'd caution everyone that Howard Berger isn't exactly the world's biggest insider so I wouldn't take it as gospel that all these people are out.

If the Oiler love fest is gone the show will be 100x better

yeah, this sort of feels like an intentional leak to get a ground swell of support so Rogers is 'forced' to keep some or all of the panel.

Berger? The news may be accurate but he likely stole it from another reporter and claimed it as his own.

Berger is annoying

Hope they don’t turf Bieksa. He is good, quite insightful

Nah, it's mandated from above and they'll probably have McDavid host.

Intermissions will now become a live cam of McDavid, regardless of whether the Oilers are playing or not.

how many people watch the intermission panel?
I can imagine they are well aware of the huge drop off when the period is over.
I know I never watch. I can follow highlights in the intermission.

I'm all for promoting the talent and skill in the league. Young players, characters, etc. It's important from a marketing and fan interest point of view.

But the constant forced-down-your-throat Oiler/Mcavi lovefest is too much, especially when he has done sweet **** all, and other more deserving young players have actually led their teams somewhere.

I'll boycott Rogers and Sportsnet for that reason alone.

A new Coach's Corner with curmudgeon extraordinaire Darryl Sutter would be must watch TV.

He'd be like Roy from Ted Lasso when he was on the panel LOL.

It's been a long time since HNIC has felt like HNIC, I suspect these changes will just make HNIC seem like any old regional Rogers broadcast.

TSN should scoop up the talent, and buy out some of Rogers' regional broadcasts if Sportsnet is so cash strapped.

Bell is the same. Remember what they did to Team 1040 in Vancouver? Pulled the plug mid broadcast.

It just isn't sustainable to pay sports analysts major money. Like when you see what all the recent people that got laid off at ESPN were making, it is insane. Just because you are talking about football doesn't mean you need to make millions of dollars. But it is pretty sad to see what has happened since Rogers took over NHL broadcasts

I've followed Howard Berger on Twitter for 10+ years and have always been under the impression that he wrote fictional insider and Leafs stories lol every time I've read a story of his that includes rumors, it's the weirdest things.

So zero idea if I believe this at all, though it is believable

I tuned in for Bieksa taking jabs at the rest of the panel.

Bieksa offers great insight and commentary on the game. A huge loss if true.

To be honest, they should have kept Strombo and let him develop his own thing. Instead, they panic and re-hire McLean.

Amber's ok, but a little too vanilla. I don't fault him for the McDavid pump ups. I think it's a mandate from SN to do so. Plus, guy is usually pretty impartial in spreading his love to all Canadian teams, Flames included. I think it's more of a case of fans of teams will only hear what they choose to hear.
