Hard to be a fan of this team when there’s no accountability in any aspect of the organization. Players/coaching/GM. Our GM presumably is handcuffed due to the fact he’s not coming back. Ownership feels obligated to keep Sutter due to his contact, despite high profile coaches getting canned often. Players show up and seemly don’t care. It’s incredibly frustrating and demoralizing when the product on the ice isn’t even exciting.

A lot of defensive breakdowns tonight, and I don't get why we saw Zadorov - Gilbert on the ice against MacKinnon/Rantanen line. That was a mismatch that Colorado gladly used.

I'm also still intrigued by Hanifin - Tanev and Weegar - Andersson as the top two pairings going forward. Ever since being hit by a truck Andersson, understandably, seems a bit off. Sutter doesn't seem like he's going to try it at any time soon.

Aside from that I'm just jealous of all the skill Colorado has. Wish the Flames could score at will like that. I liked the frustration, and the rough stuff and the attempt to fight back. Unfortunately, they didn't help, but it was still a fun game if we don't look at the score too closely.

He's become insufferable even for Ron. PK can replace him.

This is from Feb 17 but it shows a pretty clear story. This team can't go down by 2+ goals. It's why I was so frustrated with people defending Markstrom letting in the first two shots.

The team is elite when the game is tied. Pretty much bang average when they have a lead. When down 1 they take risks to generate offense, but become leaky defensively.

But when down 2 goals they might as well end the game. Flames give up nothing, Flames generate nothing. Just low event hockey. Sutter rolls 4 lines and continues to preach shot volume, the other team goes into a defensive shell (hello low quality shots - look at all that red along the blueline and boards), and Flames give up no quality either allowing Markstrom to pad his stats.

But Markstrom has a .877 save percentage when down 1 and a .873 when tied and is -15.68 GSAA in those two scenarios...so they find themselves trailing by 2 way more often than they deserve to. And it ends up like tonight.

Flames hockey is done for the year. I am glad I do not have to complain on Markstrom's performance anymore.

I will still enjoy watching hockey games, just not the one played by the Flames.

I wonder what the market is for a Tanev or a Hanifin. Does a 3.5 million dollar Coleman have a market? I am sure that there is a market for a Lindholm, Backlund or Toffoli. I would not be so negative about what the Flames have, they have players that are sellable.

Kane is not waiving to come to Calgary. One of the last cities/places he’d likely want to play.

This team just suck the life energy out of everything nearby, except opposing players.

Fire everyone, including Money Edwards (yah, I know, not happening, and he's not turfing his $80M player or his (probably) $10M coach who has "unfinished business").

Awful. It's hard to be a fan of anything with these guys. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Some term can make teams a bit more willing to part with high picks as it’s not a temporary investment, no?

Flames don’t pay the price for toffoli if he doesn’t have term left.

As much as I’d hate to see him go, I don’t want the guy to suffer the same fate Iggy and Kipper did. He deserves to raise that silver mug over his head

Truth is the season likely ended with the inexcusable losses to OTT or a week ago to PHI.

Is there a reason Sutter can't change the forward lines? Like, does he think things are going well?

I see I couldn’t get in before the SELL SELL SELL was posted and Jiri saying a player with term can’t ever be traded like teams don’t have cap projections or “cap logistics”… that guy must be employed as a summer student

Someone asked me whether Murray Edwards even watches the games.

Well I don’t think this organization is interested in selling off guys with term. They aren’t going to rebuild. They will give it at least next year
So trades involving guys like that will be more player for player not selling off
And that work happens in the summer

This last example appeared to even embarrass the rest of the panel. Kinda looked like he got a "shut up already!" in the ear from "the truck" too.
