under no circumstances do you have to hand it to Hitler in the year of our Lady Gaga 1998.

Even the literal Nazi's in operation paper clip knew better.

His hockey records are a historical fact, however honours such as a statue or HHOF plaque should be removed.

Hitting a woman is not ok. That's not posturing.

It wasn't ok to beat your wife bloody in the 1980's.

I was behind him at a luggage carousel in Chicago one time a couple years ago. He was coming back from a Gretzky hockey camp. I didn't bother him, just observed this man. He looked like a Dinosaur. He was an old-timer from another era.

Then my mind got to thinking of how he probably treated his children as well. I just felt there was a cloud around this guy that was not resolved.

His domestic abuse was an open secret in the hockey world at the height of his fame. I know a lot of Winnipeggers who have a Bobby Hull story.

Did you gloss over the fact that he beat every woman he was married to? Hung one over a balcony and threatened to drop her?

Unfortunate because of his world views and we know Darryl is a big fan of him as he has this big poster of Hull baling hay on the wall - this is from that recent video interview in Viking where he talks proudly about Bobby Hull.

I don't quite understand your post, so there were plenty other bigots during that era it's ok for what he did?

What does you being a minority has to do with anything B Hull being call out for? Other than he agreed with Hitler, he beat his wives, plural! Beating your wives is not ok no matter what era you are in. There is no controversy on what he did, he is not a controversial figure, he is a POS.

Missed that part. But I’m more referring to one person outdoing the next with what should be done with him. He was a crappy person to say the least. He’s dead, meh.

People are just voicing their opinions, just like you. Don’t try to turn it into a competition if you don’t think it should be one, nobody else thinks it is.

I’m glad he’s getting the memorial he deserves. My cousin and her husband worked on his cattle ranch back in the late 70s/early 80s. Her accounts of him back then were that he was at least as horrible a person as the stories portray him to have been…maybe worse. Arrogant, conceited bully. It’s good his true character eventually became public knowledge.

That is a false assumption. I’m from that era, and people had a pretty good moral compass back then. It wasn’t the dark ages like some who weren’t alive at that time might suggest. Yes, there were bigots and sundry other vermin back then, just like today. As long as there are humans a certain percentage are going to be pond scum.
