I don't think they'll start out at a 50 point pace, but they could both be there by the end of the year....or they could both just suck and be bound for Europe soon.

What money?

Kadri could only be fit in if Lucic and Monny were dumped.

I think Tkatchuk and Lindholm can certainly be the core of a very good first line.

Deal with Tkatchuk, leave yourself space for other opportunities as they appear and give the guys at camp a chance to make it.

I'm not even certain of that... Tkachuk and Mangiapane could both hit that level next season.

I mean.. sniffing around Kadri doesn't hurt though.

The longer he remains unsigned because his demands are too steep, the more the price tag will fall.

Based on what I saw last year, Gaudreau was a pretty key part of most offensive output. Maybe that was a bad thing, and the team was just relying on him too much. If other guys step up more, maybe they could, as you say be legit 1st line players in their own right. Guys like Tkachuk and Mangiapane are certainly a lot tougher to play against and more willing to go to the corners than Gaudreau.

Personally, I still think the Flames will flounder a lot next season without Gaudreau, but who knows.

Flames held a impromptu HOps meeting to discuss the plan(s) moving forward, "Shell-shocked" was the mood. Most thought JG13 was going to sign his last offer(10.5x8)... I haven't gotten concrete info yet of what details were discussed however I can confirm that some topics included 2023-25 Draft Targets, Salary Cap, Flames 2022 and 2023 RFA/UFA status updates.

FDC has been going really well, players are really enjoying it and feed back has been "above average". Flames impressed with Rebecca Johnston - want to continue giving her opportunities.

Calgary will conduct a pulse check in the coming days to player representatives and see if members are having a "Change of Heart" and if so if they're willing to work the clauses in their agreements with the team if they have one. (Flames do this yearly regardless of player arrival/departures)

It's believed some members of the organization are not sad to see Johnny go. He hasn't always been the best to work with. (typical in any environment though, DONT HANG YOUR HAT ON THIS)

Flames GMBT has had inquires about his contracted roster players past this upcoming season since Tuesday night. (fully expected)

Don't believe GMBT is in danger of losing his job at this time.

He could sign it now if he really wanted to, although, he will probably file for arbitration on Sunday if there's no traction on a new deal and/or he's not getting any calls about offer sheets.

probably if they start with this exact roster...I don't see it though

You won't replace Gaudreau with one guy but its possible to build a deeper team IMO

They obviously had a plan to clear 10.5M

Yep, but maybe that plan was going to cost them assets that they don't want to part with anymore now that JG doesn't need to be fit in.

I don't watch enough hockey to know, what players could the Flames possibly target that would fit well with Tkachuk and Lindholm?

Lindholm is a great center with very good puck cycling and scoring capabilities up the middle. Tkachuk is super strong in the corners as a muck raker and trick shots.

The problem I see is that line was mostly reliant on Gaudreau to carry the puck into the zone due to his strong puck possession skills, passing abilities, and finish. Johnny was key to a lot of that success.

Are there any players in the league we can target to replace that ability and to complement our two remaining first liners?

Patrick Kane. Lol, I kid because it won't/can't happen, but it'd be funny to replace Gaudreau with another American, whose just as good as a playermaker but a better shooter and not as small.

Some trade options would be -
JT Miller
Timo Mier
Tomas Hertl
Travis Konecky
Jacob Voracek

All stop gaps, imo. Don’t give up assets for them.
Get the RFAs signed and readdress at Christmas/deadline.
