Oh yeah, and then he lied about it as recently as October which no doubt victimized Beach again.

If I were the Jets, I'd be throwing everything I can at Trotz to get him to come. I honestly feel like the only thing the Jets are missing is an elite coach to motivate the group. They're a deep group that should be cup contending each year.

Here is a link for the Jets to pursue Trotz for the head coach position.

Well said Estrada.

"Lamoriello informed Trotz that the team was parting ways with him Monday morning. He said the only other individuals that knew about the decision were Islanders ownership, and that he didn't consult with anyone or speak to the players about the decision. When asked why he decided to fire Trotz, Lamoriello said, "I would rather not get into any of the reasons," but he did specify that "this decision was not primarily made on this season.""

It's a big IF, but if Florida gets bounced in the first round, maybe he goes there?

Probably more accurate to say Trotz is interviewing the Jets.

How could Chevy not justify offering him a contract? He doesn't want to go down that road like Treliving did when he didn't even interview Boudreau and hired Gulutzan as it's a bad look for a GM. The interview process needs to be about winning not feelings.

Put up or shut up time in Winnipeg. Either we want to be a serious franchise or we don't. The interview should be Chevy blowing him and giving him a blank contract and having Trotz fill in specifics.

Sorry for the crudeness of my post but I'm beyond frustrated with the Jets management right now.

edit: Wow no swear filter.

I agree White Out, pretty much give him a blank contract and let him fill in the money and term. With how hard it is to attract free agents to that destination I honestly believe he’s about the only chance to turn that franchise around without blowing it up.

I would rather Trotz goes to the Jets than him goes to Vegas or Edmonton.

Seeing how Maurice lasted 9 years in Winnipeg, makes sense for Trotz to go there over Vegas

I agree, however I do think the only other piece they’re missing is a #1 puck moving defenseman, which is why they should target Chychrun this off-season.

I think Trotz is a really good coach and just had some bad luck on the Island. His style should compliment the Jets roster well.

At the very least, if they hire him, they will find out quickly whether the problem is coaching or players.

As a born and raised Winnipegger myself, the fact that he is from there is the reason he's more likely to NOT return.

LOL. Yeah, imagine being from the Peg, working hard to get to the top of your profession, getting a cup in DC, working in NYC, and then your reward for those years is… the Peg.

Then again, money talks.

He's really from Dauphin. The idea of only being a few hours from home might be appealing to him.

And he did have good things to say about the Jets after the Caps won the Cup when he came back to Dauphin with the Cup so maybe he still feels the same.
