Honestly I don't mind the underdog tag ... especially if you look at things in franchise mode, and not the single season.
The Flames are one of those franchises that you don't want to bet on, they've underperformed for the most part in the post season with very few occasions.
If that starts to change this Spring, great! But until it does it's that team that tends to choke under pressure.

Different people, who are winning players , along with coaches that have strong championship leadership, most certainly creates a different/ winning environment.
Yes…..A winning one.
Why are people comparing apples and oranges?
2 years ago, 7 years ago, 12 years ago…those teams have no relevance to the current one.
There’s a reason for the Flames being a SC contender.
It has everything to do with the present team, nothing to do with the past.
Stop with the “woe be the Flames” and their history.
Enjoy the present. They’ve earned this chance.

I've been a Flames fan since 1985. I just don't have the luxury of this approach.

Difference is the Flames' playoff experience is in the depth players. The Stars' playoff experience is in their core players.

Why, is somebody charging you money to haul away your cynicism?

I get that honestly, and I picked the Flames in 5.
But I also think some franchises have a "feel" and the Flames are certainly a come up short franchise for the most part.
Does that affect the present team? I hope not. But it could add pressure.
Also think part of it is the Canadian fan base and expectations and excitement. We're not really seeing world on fire playoff performances from any of the Canadian teams.
