I knew a kid growing up named Chicago. He was Ojibwe and it is a word from the Algonquin languages, so it wasn't after the city (at least not directly).

Two members of Steppenwolf (the McCrohan brothers Dennis and Gerald) changed their names to Dennis Edmonton and Jerry Edmonton. Dennis then later changed his to Mars Bonfire.
