Jack Eichel is top-10 at his position.
Seth Jones is actively declining already. They now have him for the next 9 years, 8 of which pay him $9.5M AAV? Madness.

That's a big contract but I suppose when you look at it as trading Keith + 3M for Jones + 3rd/2nd + depth dman it looks pretty good.
Stupid oilers as usual.
Edit: Looks like more pieces are involved, still like it for the Hawks.

Keep in mind that this contract won't start until 2022, so there's a small chance the cap could start creeping up a bit over the early years of the contract.
Also, Chicago only has 7 contracts on the books for 2022-23 and that's the final year of the Kane and Toews mega-deals, so they have room.

He still has 1-year left on his current deal. The new 8-year extension doesn’t become official until July 28th, at which point Chicago will have Jones for the next 9 seasons.
