Defense isn't exactly Turris strong suit and he was outright bad last season, like one of the worst centers in the league defensively bad.
Here are the Oilers top 3 centers when it comes to defensive zone heat maps now, they really are going to need to get a good goalie...
That's a lot of red right in front of their own net...yikes.

I agree with this. No move the Oilers have made today jumps out as a bad deal but if you look who is in vs out I think the players out make more sense. They can score goals on the PP but need to be better 5 on 5.
IMO Turris in Sheahan out hurts them. Sheahan is more likely to accept a 3rd/4th line role with no pp time. He was on their first PK unit and was a good faceoff guy.
Ennis back doesn't hurt and Puljuravi could be big for them. But I believe they will miss Benning a lot as well. He isn't spectacular, but he would accept is role as 2nd/3rd pairing dman. With Klefbom out and Benning gone they have a ton of pressure for Broberg and Bouchard to come in and play well. IMO this could hurt those 2 young dmens develpoment.
Also I thought the Nurse days were potentially done with the Oilers. He now is going to need to step up and be there #1 guy. Larsson is a UFA too and he has not been good the last couple years. I just don't know what they are doing with their d...it is a mess.
Signing Turris and Ennis also makes me question what they have in Benson or any other AHL forwards. Clearly they have no confidence that they will get something out of anyone from the AHL other than Bouchard.
