Maybe the Jackets' asking price for Korpisalo is too high, but I would rather the Flames go after him, who's younger and cheaper and would work well as a tandem, than to pay big money and term going after Markstrom.
Flames need to just make it happen. Enough of trying to fix from within or buying low on guys hoping they bounce back. Get the proven commodity already and check it off the list.

I may or may not be engaged in sending him listings already

Correct, our team was highly reliant on our goalie last season. We may be reliant on him again this season. Much like Markstrom got over his issue with letting in early, soft goals while working with Ian Clark I am pretty sure Demko can do the same.

Does Markstrom dislike it in Vancouver, or is this just a money thing?
I agree with these anti-Thursday posters. This has to be the most exciting FA period for the Flames in a while. They are in the discussion with all the major FAs and one of the few teams with enough cap flexibility to make these big moves happen.
I'm guessing Markstrom wants an NMC so he'd be protected from the expansion draft, and Vancouver is unwilling to as they need to protect Demko. So either way, Markstrom probably would only be in Vancouver for a year. If so, why not go UFA and see what's out there?
Friedman still trying to make Oilers-Markstrom happen. It isn’t.
This is probably to ensure the Flames offer is the peak of cap, bonuses, protection in place. If the Canucks are out leverage the other top rival to ensure the Flames empty their wallet

Getting a goalie on the wrong side of 30 isn't "making it happen".
It plugs the hole for a few years as a best case scenerio.
Almost every elite goalie in the league is 27 or younger. Lehner 29. Rask and Bishop are older, but injury prone.
The position has changed.

He either wants security or dollars for security.
Essentially, which ever goalie shows to be the best choice for the future at the end of this season stays, and the other goes. Whether that's Demko or Markstrom hasn't been decided. But both need to be able to be moved. There is no issue with a NMC that kicks in after the draft.
